But mine is the clone of course so who knows what the real temperature might be.
TP rarely comes in now, now only comes in when you can just notice the vape production going down
EDIT I should add that I am dripping on a Magma

Sorry, I use 390 - 410f robby I've now edited the post I have moved up to 450f and I am getting a much fuller tastier vape now. My vapes were always thin at 410 or 420. Still not burning the wicks though. TP was coming in all the time, hence a pretty thin vape. Try more wraps with the lower temp, I had a similar experience with the Orchid.

To be honest, I am very happy with this vape and flavour at 450F. The cotton wicks still seem to be protected which is probably more important on a dripper as it gets dry so often.

Does the original have a "live" temperature display until the VP comes up?

As an example, the wick is starting to dry up, and the TP message is coming up after a second. If I vape on, it will come up almost immediately, but wont burn.

Vapingbad was saying 410 -420f max on his builds so couldn't understand why TP kept strangling my vape (as you mention) at that temp. I liked a tight draw and that turned out to be the problem. I now open the air flow right up and have got used to lung inhales. Only get TP near the end of the tank now and the difference in the flavour over the kanthal builds on a DNA30 I was used to really is quite marked.

It's just that in my experience when you get it working well around 400 going up or down 10 degrees subtlety changes your flavour profile and you can tune it to your liquid and get that clean coil and wick flavour for longer and bring out different notes at different temps YMMV.

So what you are probably doing with lung vapes is constantly cooling the coil with air cooling at a pretty fast rate ???

Does the original have a "live" temperature display until the VP comes up? Yes, done a lot of vanity vaping in front of the mirror

Does the original have a "live" temperature display until the VP comes up? It does, but I rarely watch it and there is probably some averaging going on to make it readable, not change 10 times a second.

Yea and as vapingbad said it maintains the optimum temp for flavour from a particular juice.

With dual 3 mm ss rope wicks in the Origenny2 (wicks like a monster and never floods) I set the temp to 400 or 410 and watts to 30, sometimes 40 and get lovely consistent flavour with full bodied vapour if I do a long slow lung inhale, a fast one or any combination. With out temp limiting it would be getting too hot or too cool unless the air flow and watts were in balance.

As I`m dripping, I just get a mouthful, which is probably slower airflow than a lung vape and looking like I need a higher TP to keep it inactive until needed when the coil dries. If I lung vape the Magama, I`ll probably only get two or three vapes per top up lol.
