The DNA40 is sensitive at reading ohms though some 510's. I know I have discussed this before and not going to get into a discussion again, this is now my view from the last month and a few hours testing this morning, take it or leave it.....
In in order from top to bottom of reading correctly, just tested 4no. atties.
1. Flask clone, adjustable brass screw postive, copper negative, no spring. 2. Real flask, spring loaded, takes the most pressure (compression) on the spring to move it = a good size spring. 3. ZNA with a DNA40, adjustable brass screw postive, steel negative. 4. Vapor flask, spring loaded, putting pressure on the spring tells me it's thin/weak.

I'm at a disadvantage @letsavit as I only have a Vapor Shark and all my erratic readings have come from poor connections elsewhere in the chain. The spring carrying current in the K4 is now fixed with the Steam tuner mod. Poor connection at the posts, just takes practice. I'm suspicious of twisted contact coils, not experienced now as I now space my twisted coils. If the 510 spring is used to carry current I would be suspicious of that, but a decent one doesn't. So a weak spring........not sure if I'll take it or leave it, but it seems your mind is made up so I suspect you don't really care

No I do care mate because it's been doing my head in...!, my minds made up because it's the same 4no. Atties all coiled this morning at room temp with no juice, the only variable here is the 4no. different devices..well 3, ones a clone..regardless of my coil type or it's connections they all should read the same, they don't. Might be wrong in what I think the cause is but have assumed there is no or very little resistance in the wire, so it's not the wiring to the boards. Also assumed DNA40 chip is accurate. It might well be the coil connections and some devices are more sensitive but the result is still the same.....
Thinking while typing now.....my 3 DNA boards are the 1st,2nd and 3rd gen..I think...have evolv played with the chips or programming in between, could it be the boards?
Anyway.........

Quick question on this temp shiz, do i need to prime my wick with liquid before i fill my tank?
also is a 0.19ohm coil alright, was aiming for .16 but shit at the math

They have been changing the chip, the latest have gold solder pads. I have heard about a couple of things that can affect the r reading and temp control: VaporShark wirless charging heating the mod body up apparently the effect last a while after charging and the mod getting too hot or too cold.

For those who don't want to build I will wait until Ash has them in myepack as they will be much cheaper than they were when in stock at UKecigstore, still unsure about this technology personally though and they are not just for the DNA40 they also work for the Smok M80 Plus

Managed to bring a coil in at 0.09 ohms, to keep the temperature down it's being run at... get ready... 9 watts! Good chunk of cloudage, plenty of flavour. The battery is twiddling its thumbs saying 'is that all you want? 9 frigging watts?'

More Authentic SquapeR fun... So, been playing with the Ni200, 26G. Finding it jumping around in Ohms, .27 to .1.6 to 3.4 was driving me nuts. Tonight I built a new coil 8 wraps on a 1/8" drill bit (the one that fits perfect i the W channel) and rewicked, same issues, I rap the leads around the screws etc... then I thought I wonder about the firing pin... turned it out a turn and bam! the unit went right to .11 ohms steady as a rock. guess my pin was just a little too far in and making a so so connection on the vapor shark v2. Something to check if you have one of these tanks. Oh, the board is set to 20W and temp 400 Degreez?, working out really nice so far.

Thought I would bump this for decoy so might as well post most recent coil: twisted 2 strand of 34 AWG 0.16 mm nickel on dual 3 mm 7x19 ss rope with 2 layers of 500 micron ss mesh @ 0.11 ohm in an Origen Genesis V2 clone from GearBest with wick holes drilled to 3.3 mm. Done with a single piece of wire.

8/10 your spacing could be more even..... Back to serious; So that atty for me looks like a kraken with a Origen center post, should be easy enough to build on. not sure about sucking hot juice of all that metal though?

Yep SS rope is good maybe even be the best wicking material. You got me thinking decoy so I've had a go at another Clapton. 0.20mm annealed round 0.25mm straightened tempered, also made a tiger with the newly introduced 0.1mm x 0.5mm ribbon. The ribbon has the same resistance as 0.25mm round so easy to work out the wraps but the Capton is trial and error, unless VapingBad can help to get in the ball park. If I'd had my wits about me I'd have measured the 0.20mm before I wrapped it then I would have known the length of both. The 0.25mm is about 30cms and I reckon I used just about 4 times that amount of 0.20mm to wrap it. 0.20mm is 2.9 0hm/m and 0.25 is 1.8 ohm/m and so I should be able to work it out but the wife has been away working and I've got the kitchen to clear up not to mention coiling, mixing, mod making and cobbled together camera stuff to tidy away and generally make the place look tidy before she gets back Tell me it's not going to be a giant coil VB
