Here I go again!! I am looking at the.....Riva 1100! If I am getting an individual battery (for trial purposes!) can my 510 charger be used or do I need a new charger as well? Can I use it with my new found love of Bud tank atomiser?(my new found love, couldn't get the hang of cartomisers) The Riva seems to have some sort of cone thingy attached to the battery to give it a good look, would that work with the bud tank thingy or would it look odd ??? Is there a red version?

Hi Mrsmac You will need an Ego/Riva USB charger rather than a mini 510 charger. They should work with the Buds, but because they output a higher voltage when fresh off charge, they may be better with the HV ones - but Steve might know better. Don't know about red, but I think James @ Paradisevape did have some funky coloured ones.

HV is the High Voltage variant of the buds.
I'm just not sure how well the standard ones work on a Riva battery - wicking wise, because I haven't tried them myself and a lot depends on the type of e-liquid you are using (PG/VG balance).

Thanks again, looking at your site, you have riva tanks, I am assuming they would be the same as the Buds? in terms of fill, screw onto battery and go?

Similar, but they need filling with a syringe. Whereas, you can just take the top off the bud.

I use a regular (PG, standard resistance, non-HV) Bud on my Riva battery. Just make sure youa re using PG rich juice, and line up the airhole with the cutout in the battery connector.
Sadly the cone doesn't quite fit over it, but I think wider cones can be bought somewhere.

Des, it looks like James is out of the Riva batteries at the moment as the links are leading to pages saying "product not found".

Is it worth getting the Bud kit, the riva tank kit or perhaps just the seperates, the battery power is lower in the kit Bud kit but it has the cones to conceal the tank

Yes, the bud tank atomiser is compatable if you buy a 510 threaded riva. Rivas also come in 901 versions so you'll want the 510 one to be able to use it with the bud tanks.
For voltages, the 510 you have is a regulated battery at 3.2volts. The riva however is unregulated and when you take it fully charged off the charger it will be 4.2volts and will slowly reach 3.3volts as it's depleted.
That means that the riva will have more "power" than the 510 you have and you will experience a warmer or stronger vape as a result. If it's too strong for you, you can buy higher resistance bud tank atomisers which will lessen the power the riva is putting out, so cooler vapour and less of it.
The cone on the riva is purely for aesthetics and is removable. There's no requirement to use it. It's meant to be used with atomisers rather than tanks but it is purely for aesthetics so it's up to you if you want to use it or not. It may slightly affect the air flow on the riva with it on but it wouldn't be by much.

Thank you leftfield and all who replied, I bit the bullet and ordered the Bud tank, I wanted to order the riva as their tank is bigger but wasn't sure, I believe the two maybe interchangeable so I may be able to try their atomisers but the voltage of their batteries is higher. Also ordered me some RY4 as I hear a lot of people on this forum commenting on the taste for some reason, today the menthol tobac is a little bitter on the buds lol
