hello everyone, did not know e cigs existed until i woke up christmas morning and my wife had got me 1...i wish she had seen this forum before she bought me a nucig...from what little research i have done it is extremely overpriced but it has stopped me smoking so it is worth it,i am just wondering when is the right time to start hinting her christmas present is not for me and i want something to last longer than 45 mins before the battery dies without hurting her feelings if i go and buy a riva she will think that her present is not good enough and i am an ungrateful git.. i am absolutely loving vaping and got a few 5ml samples from paradise vapes and have not got past the first 1 which is strawberry menthol..i cannot leave it alone.. anybody who see's me and asks about what i am doing i point in this direction to make the right choice and not get suckered into buying overpriced rubbish does anybody know if the nucig is a 510 fitting as i will get a few carto's for it and pass it on to 1 of my family to try when i have the guts to ask my OH for something with a bit more oommph

Hi Syycoe and welcome to the forum. i will be corrected if i am wrong but i have a feeling that the nucig has a 510 connector fitting and as such new batteries and cartos should be interchangeable. Im sure if you explain to your wife about you wanting to upgrade she will understand and just be thrilled that she helped you kick the ciggies plus passing on your nucig to a family member and helping them is a double bonus

Hello & welcome Sycoe I think a way to get round not upsetting your wife is to thank her so much for getting you started on e-cigs & that you are so impressed with her thoughtful gift, you fancy trying a different style From memory, I think the nucig is an M series & not compatible with a 510 fitting. Off to see if I can confirm that.

Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping matee. we all find our way to this wonderful site eventually and there is no end of help here. I too started vaping on a mini 510 ciggie lookalike thingy on xmas eve but rapidly stepped up to the ego style battery after smoking 40/50 per day of roll-ups, even that battery never lasted the day as i had been chain vaping with all that i could lay my hands on, doing the searches and my head in, this site takes all that away there are suppliers here all very good at helping you upgrade. I would like to say in particular whilst it is a new "toy" for me I have jumped to a lava tube at a cost of about £50 including the discounts and 5 cartomizers and 10 ml of eluiquid with 2 large capacity batteries one so far has lasted a day and a half of serious vaping and compared to buying a kit such as the Riva/ego as good as the are the two batteries you get with them would last me a full day, and not a lot more to pay either. If you are off the smokes it should make the wife happy that you upgrade to stay off but there always will be an initial expense to support your new found hobby (cartomizers/batteries/juice etc). Good luck with it and whatever the questions you have just ask away there are many here to help. have fun

Just had a look on the nucig site - they are selling different models since I last checked them out yonks ago - still very overpriced. Some of the atomisers they are selling are either M series or DSe103's. Others do look like 510's.

Your OH gave you the ultimate Christmas presie of getting you off the nasties. For that you should be eternally grateful and it's not her fault that the device she chose was overpriced and underpowered - there are a lot of vendors out there exploiting people's ignorance of vaping. It's pretty easy to justify getting something with mroe oomph just on the saving you are making from not buying fags...

Greetings Syycoe - what a useful Christmas present! I was given a (not very good) ecig kit for Christmas 2009, upgraded a few weeks later and haven't touched an 'analogue' since. I'm sure your OH won't mind a bit if you upgrade as anything's better than going back to burning tobacco!! Fox

At least one of the Nucig variants is a 510, because someone brought one in a couple of weeks ago. and welcome Syycoe

thanks everyone i just had a look at the battery under a magnifying glass and it has jsb stamped on it..a quick google and i am still unsure as they make a 510 battery and some other 1's which look the same fitting but i am unsure the carto's on that site are the same but have a number of options..i will have to have a word with my wife as i am charging the batteries every 45 mins and it is starting to annoy me..even though i will not go back to ciggies maybe i can threaten her with going back to them unless i get a nice new shiney...and then run and hide. and once again thanks

Well done to you Syycoe and your wife for getting you on the first rung of the vaping ladder. Agree 100% with what everyone else has said on here. Your wife was probably being cautious in case you didn't like your prezzie.

Welcome Syycoe I can't offer any help on makes and models. But I am about 98% sure if your honest with your wife and explain to her that you love the pressie she got you, and really enjoying using it and being off the ciggys. As much as you love the one she got you would it be ok with her to take a look around at soemthign with a longer battery life so you arent caught short without a charge and tempted to go back to a ciggy. I'm pritty sure shes over the moon you have done this well, to spend a few more pounds on it instead of ciggys wont be a big problem. And if all else fails ... show her how much a provari costs (£200 approx) then ask if its ok to buy a lava tube (£40 approx) lol
