Hi all, just wanted to let you all know that i managed to re-coil the 0.5ohm OCC Kanger coil for the Sub-Tank, started by trying to separate the top of the head away from the main body, this was very tight and pliers & grips were needed. Once separated i pulled the bottom pin out and then the insulator and pulled the coil out from the top. One observation after separation and the use of pliers & grips on the head is that the Kanger coil is made from brass with a chrome plating to it (not good imo but the Chinese do like their chrome plated brass) anyway i proceeded to try a recoil of the head. I used 26 AWG kanthal around a 3mm drill bit (i used the 3mm as the coil i took out looked to be approx 3mm in diameter) wicked with Japanese cotton pad and cut the tails down to approx 10mm either side, lined up the coil so the two tails of the wick were eye level with the wick holes and then proceeded to pop on the insulator and contact pin, trimmed the ends of the kanthal with nail clippers then tweeked the wick ends into place covering the wick holes on the main body until i was happy with the placement, (dont have any cotton sticking out of these holes). screwed the coil into the base and proceeded to check the coil and it came out at 1.0 ohm on my meter, filled tank and screwed the base on and watched for air bubbles and they were present. I had a couple of vapes and it was brilliant. But because of the statement in bold i will be sticking to the RBA base only, hope this helps peeps, cheers Carl
