Hello to all. i was tweaking for a month now a recipe that i wanted for cold days with intense flavor and a good cleaning of the system:) Caution! This is a tank ripper so better to be used in a dripper of steel tank.
My main ingredient as you see on the card is Lemon from Inawera , it was chosen as it has a more crispy flavor which i like most and hides better the Absinth. I've used it with variations of Lemon Sicily and Lime , all are good , it's just a matter of how intense you want the lemon on your recipe. I prefer it to be overpowering so i used the Inawera one. Steeping : zero time actually - though day 2 was milder Both Koolada and Menthol are homemade. No alcohol used in the solution. 90% PG and 10% Koolada Powder for Koolada and 50% Menthol - 50% PG for the Menthol. Vanilla is from Inawera & Cinnamon Ceylon from FA. The Ceylon has a better taste IMO , smoother than others that you may find. Though a common Cinnamon after 6-7 days of steeping goes smoother. MethodologyBase 1: Lemon + Absinthe + Menthol + Koolada along with the PG / VG Base 2: Cinnamon + Vanilla Base 1 ingredients mix well for one day , the lemon masks the absinthe. It's there one day after but hidden behind the lemon. The same happens with menthol as well. It's there but Lemon neutralizes the flavors. After Day 1 you mix base 1 + base 2 adding Ethyl Maltol or other sweetener. The sweetener is used to cut the edges of the very strong solution with the Lemon. So you have the flavors but it makes the liquid vapable for more time. The Vanilla in that small percentage makes also the Cinnamon a bit smoother so it has the same effect. Strong Stirring (a good shaking) and you ready to go... Personally i'm very happy for the result (as they say the fish you catch is the most tasty one) as i've managed to have the coolness but not in a harsh way. Enjoy...

Hello.
some notes here after a week of steeping.
I've to say is required.
My initial thought was that is ready to go liquid which it's ok. But after a week of steeping i get a far better result.
The lemon flavor is now more "rounded" and the absinthe seems to be far far present but still on the background. Very very happy with the result as it has a more mellow finish.
Best regards
