Evolve DNA 40 clone temp control - first look :)

The instructions seem identical to the Evolve DNA40. The temperature control seems to work very well so far. Currently vaping at 15 watts and 470 derees, can see the temp control coming in an out as it should. I`m going to vape it till it`s dry to see the effect. Build quality seems great, two high current batteries installed so should give 5000mah between battery changes. My coil is .28, a very dodgy looking coil for my first one, but I was in a hurry lolol. So far, mightily impressed for £43 plus DHL.

470° F is very high IMO, I mainly vape at 410° F and never above 420° F after the first week or so.

It's mainly as it subtly changes the flavour profile of your juice, I vape 100% PG so my sweet spot is probably lower than with high VG juices.

Well, that`s the cotton wick bone dry slight scorch mark in one place but that is down to my crappy coil and the temp maybe being too high at the start. Gonna make a decent build and try it again. Thumbs well and truly UP so far

To be honest, there isn`t a lot of difference geordie_vaper , obviously it is controlled and a lot more experimentation needs to go into it before I can make any judgements on that. Need to get the wick bedded in etc before I could make that judgement call. I am very happy that the temperature control works well, I`ve got 2 2500mah batteries in the mod and I am not going to have to rewick so often.

The coiling isn`t as fiddly as I thought it would be. Nickel is quite pliable so a lot of care needs to be taken when replacing wicks, very easy to mess the coil up if it`s two tight when changed, but with the square cotton pads I`ll quickly find out the right width strip to cut. I seem to have got it spot on at the moment. The build quality (from what I can see) is very good. The body is the type with the two copper retainers at the bottom.

The 510 connector is adjustable and it is the screw in/out type one with a good "throw" on it. Probably preferable to the spring loaded type with the resistance measurement being so critical with temperature control, so all good so far

My coil was crap @letsavit , so there was a wrap that wasn`t touching the wick completely and getting hot

Brand new coil/cotton on two real DNA boards will do as above, it's working fine by the sounds of it...

I still have it in it`s little box VapingBad. Really couldn`t find anything to put it in that I would be happy with, so it`s for the classies or Ebay very soon I`m happy with this so far

I would put it in a box robby, you will never know how well the clone regulates without a real one to compare it to I suspect the devil is in the detail with temp limiting.

IIRC it is and he got it from BargianVapour wher my firat one came from which hasn't had any problems (I did put epoxy under the cable just in case).
