Hi all Ive treated myself to a Vaporshark dna30 (wifes gonna kill me) arrived today put my Erl on it with a 1.3ohms microcoil in it when i fire it at 7W the ohms symbol is flashing showing no volts and im starting to get a burnt taste. So i put my Kayfun on it with a 1.6ohm microcoil and exactly the same as the Erl. I had a read up and it says that 1 ohm or below it may flash insufficient power but im getting the burnt taste so shorly its to high. Sorry the box mod is all new to me any help kindly appreciated

it flashes when you have wattage too low for the coil, just click up a few notches and it'll eventually stop flashing (you can still vape it, regardless ) I always assume its just a hint and tips setting? only mine does that all the time too.....
Mine doesnt show voltage when i'm in wattage mode - or vica versa. I again assumed that its the chip settings - I know what you mean though as the isticks and cheaper mod display shows... confusing but I think its normal <<or I have your twin here>>

No mine still dosent show voltage but just checked on my IStick that does, These are a lovely little mod quite heavy for its size and NOW a great vape. Im using .25 kanthal for my microcoils would it be worth stepping up to .28 PeppertyThanks for the quick reply

Grandad the dna30 has a min output voltage of 4 volts so with a 1.6 ohm coil the minimum wattage setting is 4*4 / 1.6 = 10 watts With a 1.3 ohm coil the min wattage is 4*4 / 1.3 = 12.3 watts. So with either coil you can't vape at 7 watts and the flashing display is telling you your desired 7w setting is not possible and the output is actually higher.

Pepperty is correct, if you want lower watts you will need a higher ohm coil, as the battery drains it will go slightly lower as it's bottom limit is dictated by the battery voltage. You should see the volts when it's firing.

So in your min voltage is 4 V and you want 7 W using Rmin = V2/Power = 16/7 = 2.3 ohm, but that will not be able to go to the highest power setting as you will hit the upper V limit. 1 - 1.5 ohm is a good resistance for a DNA30 1 ohm is 16+ W ans 1.5 ohm is 10.7+ W.

I think that may be easier for me @letsavit It is in this day and age yes, these two clever clogs will have you using a abacus next..... Im sitting in front of a 15k calculator right now (CAD machine/software) working, im no good at math, I know what to enter and where and let my work tool do the rest for me.....
