Hi all, What a truly great forum. All the info i could ever need - thanks to the founders for that.! I'm Dale, 52, and live and work in Huddersfield. Just two quick questions if i may ? 1) Where in the high street can i buy the two piece ecig from ? someone at work mentioned the chemists ? does this mean the likes of Boots ? or Tescos pharmacy ? 2) I've researched the most common brands - i.e. E-Lites and Green Smoke, do they sell these at high street outlets ? Thanks in advance, now back to browsing this great site. Cheers all, Dale.

Hi Dale I am new only joined last week and have had really good advice here. Most things recommended on this forum seem to be only available online at the moment. there is a thread here tho about e-cigs and the high street allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=4913&page=1Have you tried any yet? I can't imagine why I didn't try this sooner (probably because of lack of good info) anyway, welcome i'm sure you will get some good relpies!

Hi Dale, Tesco sells the disposable types BUT WAIT, my advice is to not buy one as they are not great. Assuming it's you that wants to try a E-Cig could you tell us what you smoke (brand) and how many a day? Also are you looking to stop smoking cigarettes completely or just cut down? Does it have to be a high street vendor? Oh and by the way WELCOME!

Hi Karma and DiscoDes - thanks for the welcomes. Karma - not tried any at all yet. Disco - I currently smoke about 20 roll ups a day and no - i'm not planning on stopping, but my research has told me that it's healthier than smoking Tobacco, 3000 less chemicals than in normal baccy ect, also it would be nice not to have to re-decorate the living room every 2 years due to the nicotine staining / clinging to everything. And they say it's cheaper in the long run, so i'm saving all round as far as i can see. Yes unfortunately, it has to be the High Street where i buy from as i dont have Credit / Debit cards. So your recommendations would be most appreciated as i dont want to buy the first ones i come across without your recommendations first.
Thanks again in advance.

Dale, i was like you didn't really want to stop smoking rollies, quite liked it but was concerned about my health and you are so right about the mess it makes of your home.
I haven't had a rollie now for 48 hours. as a committed smoker that is a real achievement for me. any other time I've tried to give up with patches, chewing gum ets I've been climbing the wall. Now tho I've got my nicotine hit, fake smoke and all and I'm not missing my rollies. i haven't told anyone that I'm giving up as that it too much pressure, i'm just taking it one day at a time.
this forum has been invaluable tho in getting me over some teething problems. hope you find it useful!

Cheers for the replies. The main reason i would like the E-Lites or similar brands as i like / want something that looks and feels like a normal cig, especially when i'm out and about. Will try and look up Vape escape. Cheers.

Well done on that.! I've tried to stop myself, but if the truth be known, i guess i dont really want to (to much going on in life) so i suppose i see this as a healthier alternative. It's my day off tomorrow so i suppose i'll just go trawling round the Chemists (if thats where you get them from ?) and see what i can get. Hopefully something like a starter pack and some additional "smokes"- refills or whatever they are. But yes the E lite / Greensmoke type one are pretty dear to start off with, but i'll see whats available.

But then again i'm not very savvy with this computer searching stuff. Anyone help me out here please ? - will put some other examples up as i find them.

Smoking rollies is inexpensive compared with cigs and I have to be honest and say I've spent more than usual on my 'smoking' or should I say 'vaping' habit this week! i think tho that once set up it will be no more expensive and will certainly save money on the decorating side of things. Obviously the biggest benefit will be for our health and that is priceless!

Dale, I can uderstand you wanting to get a E-cig that looks like a cigarette, it's ok if you just want to try an e-cig to see what they're like but MANY people here (me included) will tell you that they just don't pack the punch that a "proper" E-Cig does. The reason for this is that the batteries are tiny. The battery supplies the current to the heating coil in a E-cig that vaporises the nicotine liquid to produce the smoke. The bigger the battery generally the better the end result is. My recommendation to you is to get to Vape Escape here: Vape Escape 11 York Street Heywood OL10 4NN TEL: Landline: 01706 628790 Mobile: 07814 058 819 There they have differnt E-cigs you can try including the look alikes you are drawn to, they will give you good advice and it will probably work out cheaper for you in the long run as you won't buy one that is unsuitable/unreliable. They are a friendly bunch and are used to helping people getting started and are eager to help anyone make the move to E-cigs.
