This wont matter in a few days, i have the kayfun v4 on the way, but i would still like to get to the bottom of it.
have been using the kayfun 3.1 for a Looong time and had little to no issues with it at all.
that is till just recently i have been getting a burnt wick in a very short space of time. the only way i can prevent it from happening is to block the air holes and suck. Forcing juice into the chamber.
before people say check the juice channels are not blocked wicking etc...
I have done a full strip down, a complete one, and cleaned every part. I have been wicking and using the same wire from day one.. i havent changed anything in my building methods.
i am very mechanically minded and think about things in a logical manner. i wouldnt be asking here about it but i just cant seem to work out whats causing it.
the only thing that has changed is the top oring ( that always goes ) started swelling due to a lime flavour. i have had to glue it in place to stop it popping out. but to my knowledge that ring only acts as an air tight seal stopping air getting in. it should have no bearing on the juice flow into the chamber.

looking at it logically chuxsta as you have done, there seems no reason for it. User errors that cause a burn taste I can think of are: Excessive power to the coil, long legs overheating, tightly packed wick in the evaporation chamber, blocked grooves, no liquid in tank , tight or loose coils round wick and vaping while lying down. Blocking the air hole as you have done to induce juice flow proves it's air tight, if it wasn't that would cause the opposite, leakage. It's a mystery, but the consolation is that once you get used to the v4 you'll love it.

It's a mystery, but the consolation is that once you get used to the v4 you'll love it. even though i shouldnt need to change things i have, i reduced the amount of wick, changed the type of coil, adjusted the wattage, as you mentioned all the obvious things that cause a wick to burn out... think i was hoping someone else had exact same problem and had solved it. but as you say the V4 is enroute.. cant wait.. after reading up about it i love the fact it addresses all the things that were wrong with the 3.1... i love it when they release a new version that actually is an improvement on its predecessor. rather than a ££ making scheme like the iphones.
