Personally i would go for the Smok. Give the mini star a google and see if you can find some reviews.

I just landed a few M50's (65W upgrade) this morning. I've only had a couple of minutes to play around with them - initial thoughts are the firing delay from the BT50 seems to be improved or gone entirely. I've yet to get it to fire at 65W with the few builds I had with me, both times it dropped down to 50W before it would fire.

I should get a bit longer to get to grips with it tomorrow

I've read two accounts of something similar to this happening elsewhere. Both cured the problem by thoroughly cleaning the 510 pin contact.

The suggestion is that grease/oil residue on the pin is producing variable resistance causing the chip to rapidly adjust the output.
