Welcome to the forum honkeykong.
You won't regret the riva, its a great piece of kit to get you started. You have made a great decision to switch from the cigs both for your health and your finances.
I was a 40 plus a day smoker and enjoyed it so it was more the finance / smell reasons that I decided to try vaping and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I'm sure it will be the same for you.

Depends on the liquid used Honkey.
Thicker (VG heavy) liquids will clog a cartomiser up faster. But, with a PG heavy mix you should be able to top it up many many times (I've never actually counted but 20+ I would say).
At the end of the day though, they are actually disposable items and weren't originally intended to be used for the length of time that they sometimes are.

Hello & welcome from me as well Honkey I used to smoke on average 50 a day Same as you, I only enjoyed a few of them. One of the many good things about e-cigs is that you can use them in a way that suits you. So if you want an alternative to all the cigarettes you don't enjoy, the e-cig is an ideal alternative

Hi honkeykong and a warm welcome to the forum mate... i would say a riva would be a great kit to enter into the magical world of vaping... i would suggest a nicotine strength of between 20-30mg as you'll need something to help with cravings of 30 cigs a day. grab a good mix of flavours as you never know what will work with you and makes vaping more appealing if the taste is there dont put any pressure on yourself to quit smoking, simply load up the e-cig and have a go... the cravings just reduce naturally and before you know it you wont be smoking anywhere near 30 a day ...saving a ton of money and well on the way to improving your health ...good luck ...shout us when you get your kit

Good morning all, and hi to all the new folk who have replied since I was last here. At the moment I am still wavering a bit on my decision of which e-cig to get. Still verging toward the Riva, but the way I see it is that this is a major purchase since it's something I will hopefully be using every day for the foreseeable future! I think I get the idea that the ones that look like / are the same size as real cigs are not as good since the batteries tend to be crap. Also sure that I want a manual battery. What do people think of these e-cigs that come with a charging case that charges your batteries on the go? Are they any good? I was looking at these: www.jacvapour.com/Sport_and_V1P_PCC_kits-V1P_PCC_starter_kit.htmlwww.jacvapour.com/PCC_kits-Excel_-_Starter_Kit.htmlThe main problem with the above being, I think, the low power batteries, but they do charge on the go. And also the VGo: www.jacvapour.com/VGo_starter_kits-Vgo_starter_kit_1.htmlWhich is a bit more expensive than the Riva, has 650mah batteries. No charging case, but who agrees that they look pretty damn COOL???? I know it sounds stupid and petty... but the main thing I don't like about the Riva is the gold coloured band around it. I HATE gold... haha.

I've heard good reports about the Javapour kits with the PCC's. Never tried one myself as by the time they had come out, I'd moved on from buying any ciggie lookalike.
I do agree that the rubber coated VGo's look good but they are a tad on the expensive side for a 650mah battery.

Maybe I'll just have to overcome my hatred of gold! If I can overcome the fags and move on to a vaper, I'm sure I can do that.. haha.

Lol, I do know what you mean though, I think they look more classy with a silver band The gold makes it look slightly cheap and tacky tbh. I suppose you could always take it to bits and spray it a different colour with some kind of heat proof paint.

Hrrrrmmmm I am also reading that the tobacco flavoured liquids can be very disappointing, as they don't get close to the real thing, and a lot of people end up preferring other flavours. Maybe I should get a pick n mix.
