I remember the debate on here previously and thought this was worth passing on.
VERY, VERY IMPORTANT - PayPal Gift It has always been a rule on UK Vapers that all classified transactions must be done via PayPal Goods and Services (Not PayPal Gift / Friends and Family).
The reason for this is simple - if you pay via goods and services you can make a claim to get your money back if the goods are not delivered. If you pay via paypal gift, then you're out of luck and out of pocket with no recourse to reclaim your money.
Unfortunately, it seems a number of members are ignoring this and seemingly think they are above the rules of the forum. This will end, and it will end now: From this moment, anyone at all who requests or offers payment by PayPal Gift will be permanently banned with no second chances and no appeal
We don't have access to PMs so we would ask that anyone receiving such a request lets us know via the contact us forum so we can take action
The vast majority of members on here are honest, but the rule is there to protect everyone and we expect everyone to abide by it

Fair enough, its their forums' rules and members should abide by their rules. Must admit, until a buyer let's me know they have received the goods they've paid for, the money stays in the bank.
BUT what if a buyer 'claims' they haven't received the item/s? This means the seller will always have to send trackable to cover themselves.

Yada, yada, yada
I've kind of had enough of this debate - this all comes down to trust - if you use paypal f&f the buyer can be stitched up by an unscrupulous seller which is not good BUT if you use paypal goods and services the seller can be stitched up by an unscrupulous buyer (anyone who's ever been on the wrong end of an ebay paypal claim, regardless of how careful they were with postage can attest to this) - so also not really good. And you have to pay Paypal for the privilege too.
So somewhere along the line one party had to trust the other - and if they don't well probably not a good idea to be trading.
One forum can set their own rules as they see fit but lets please not pretend its going to make things perfect whichever way you come down.

You can send trackable and Paypal will still refund (been there had the T-shirt). All this does is transfer the risk in the transaction from one party to the other - it doesn't actually 'protect' anyone (and makes it more expensive to trade to boot).

So the bottom line is : trust who you sell to! This is why feedback is so important and why we bang on about new members giving an introduction of themselves before jumping onto the classifieds.

The trust issue doesn't really come in to it. A simple proof of postage covers you up to £20 if lost. Signed for £50. SD for anything above. The goods and services make sure the buyer doesn't have to mess about getting their money refunded.

Don't think this was a Paypal Gift Vs Goods & Services type post but more a heads up of the warning issued across the road on UKV as there are plenty of members here that use the Classies over there, forewarned is forearmed 'n' all that.

Ive sent goods to someone this week and said they can pay me next week... would that be allowed on UKV in all seriousness, i do look at the number of posts before dealing with someone. If their post count is low I will probably be a little cautious. If your post count is high - you're as nuts as the rest of us and il trust you completely
