Was looking in to buying the Vaporshark RDNA 40 as I've got the DNA 30 & wanting a bigger battery with bigger capacity ETC & seen something about the RDNA 40 that you can only use Nickel wire or something about temp control haven't really a clue about it so just wondering can you not use Kanthal ? & is the RDNA 30 the same do you have to use Nickel wire ?
Cheers

No you don't need to use nickel wire you can use kanthal if you turn the temp sensing function off. You only need nickel if you're using the temp sensing, you can't use kanthal with temp sensing.

Cheers so whats the difference using Nickel better flavour more safe or something ? I have a DNA40 not played with the temp control stuff really yet though. The idea as i see it is you can set a max temp you want your coil to hit and the device won't go above that. One advantage is if you set it below the scorch point of the wicking material you're using you're not going to burn your wick no matter how much you chain vape it or draw on it for. As for does it produce a better vape like i said not really played with it myself at this point i guess it's like when people moved from vv to vw kinda like autopilot the idea was you could set your wattage where like vaping at and if you changed the atomiser for one with a different resistance the device would automatically adjust the voltage and the temp thing is like the next version of that. I think the idea is to keep your vape tuned to your personal tastes better across various builds.

Nickel coils allow you to sub ohm without the hot harshness that you get with kanthal. It will give you more flavour and vapour without the risk of a dry hit.

Depends on the tank you try it on. I have a rose and there isn't any difference, but thats down to it limited airflow. Try it a lemo for example and you will notice the increase in flavour and vapour because it has much more airflow allowing you to vape at higher watts with more juice, taking full advantage of the temp control.

I have conventional reg mods and both clone and genuine Rdna 40's, there's definatly a difference between the two, as mentioned further above, the vape for me is smother, cooler and nay dry hits is a bonus. The other main advantage is it teaches you a lot about your wicking and build. Do you need it, only you can answer that, me I know what I prefer.

i prefer a tight draw, i think my mate had a nickle build in a billow i think its called, was ok but can beat a reduced chamber and tight airflow for me at least
