Thanks all for your advice. Dave and Greg you made me laugh. whiteshep thanks - I would be interested in your views. The MVP is attractive simply because it so solid - the istick or at least the istick 20 does seem to be a bit fragile, and I can't afford a back up - that will need to be protanks and the MVP2. Ripshod letsavit thanks for the thoughts on the smok. Interesting that the screws are not that great. The clouper mini was my absolute favourite - but the safety problems do worry me. Get Off My Cloud the passthrough point is a good one Tom thanks for the link The VS DNA 30 is properly outside my budget, apparently I have something called "the kids" that need to be fed - I know ridiculous. I have recieved the m65 this morning from myepack and it seems very good so far. It doesn't feel cheap in the hand and is a lot smaller than my ipv2.
I have just chucked a vtc5 in it so won't have to open it for a while as will only use usb charging.

Got my 50w istick today been using it since I got it absolutely fantastic mod just better then my sigelei little things you can lock just your settings rather then a total lock of the device. Screen is better outside can clearly read it without having to shade it its well put together and all the issues with the 20 have been corrected. 510 is now stainless steel no more stripping the threads, what you set is what you get no more running hot like the 20 did. Gotta be honest for £40 this thing is just great and I couldn't justify spending more for my vaping needs. Battery wise by now I'd have gone through 2 Sammie 25r's but still over three quartets of battery left and I am a very heavy vaper this thing will easy last me two days. Istick 50w is going to have a huge impact on the mid watt device area a lot of makers are going to need to lower their price and up their game.
I only bought it for a stopgap while my sig 50 was away being replaced but its a lot more then a stopgap I'm going to be rotating between this and the sig because I get the same quality vape from both and that did surprise me.

Thanks for the update whiteshep. I assume it would be a good partner to the sub tank Nick

Yeah used my subtank on it wasn't a problem I've tried to find something negative about it and the only thing you can throw at it is the smoothness of the finish not a problem for me or most others but if you had weak hands it would be in the category oif likely to slip.

In the end I went for the Smok - and so far really pleased with it. I was very tempted by the 50W stick, but in the end I wanted the flexibility of a rechargeable battery. But it is like driving a V8 at high speed - you can see the fuel drop while sub-ohimg. Not sure how long a charge will last.
