Whilst I love them dearly, my wife is in London on a conference, and my daughter's at work, so tonight I have enjoyed the delights of our Smart TV, watching YouTube videos searched via my phone and viewed on the big(ger) screen. I started with some Airshow roundups from last Summer, then gravitated to twisted Kanthal dripper builds, and finally enjoyed the last hour in the company of Chick Corea (jazz pianist), the German Radio Big Band, Bobby McFerrin (blimey, that guy can sing!), and finally an American 3rd year trombone student live-multitracking pop songs like 'Happy' using Ableton software. Bleddy bliss - just time for another glass of wine before little-legs gets home!! This is worth a watch even if you don't like Americans, trombones or 'Happy'!!

Ableton is brilliant. Even for simpletons like me. Was at a party/jam/gathering where someone was using ableton. Had a play and a few clicks and taps on a light up pad thing. Was impressed Glad you enjoyed your down time chyk!

Old dog, new tricks. Give me Sibelius any day, I prefer score-writing to live composition, that's the way I roll

My attention span is very short so live composition suits me down to the ground. Only had a go a few times but it's always been one of those things that if I had more time I would have a go at.
When I started lurking again I read about what's happened/happening/about to happen re your teaching. How's it worked out?

When I started lurking again I read about what's happened/happening/about to happen re your teaching. How's it worked out? 75 of the 93 teachers in the County Council Music Service came across to the new company, Cornwall Music Service Trust. We are a registered company with Charitable Status, and have successfully completed our first half-term of tuition. Many of the schools who previously had other teachers have now come on board, and new work is still being created. We are on track with the financial projections, and on the Thursday before half-term had a celebratory launch concert in Truro Cathedral which featured over 200 children and young people, and was attended by in excess of 700 in the audience. All's going well, thank you for asking!!

Old dog, new tricks. Give me Sibelius any day, I prefer score-writing to live composition, that's the way I roll I've got a pedal for looping. Suits me fine. A while back, I exported a load of sib files (as midi data) to Pro-tools so I could mass edit the lengths of rhythms and jazz swings. After a few days, I started to see the potential. A month later, I'd done a 10 track Latin Album. (who says I have OCD.... ? )
