NR/R/NR Welded Wires

Would these welded wires be suitable for rebuilding Kanger heads? I've not come across this Nichrome stuff before.

Hi drunkenbum,yes there fine for rebuilding kanger heads.I use the fastech pre wicked coils for my evod and pro tank heads,that are made from nichrome.Some people think they give out a strange taste,and prefer kanthal.Other people like them ok.I use and like them,and to me they vape great,plenty vapour and flavour.

Thanks @romney. Just heard kanthal mentioned alot but never nichrome. I've just done my first rebuild with kanthal but heard about welded wires not burning the rubber gromit

Yes that's correct drunkenbum,the NR-R-NR wires don't burn the grommet,as no heat gos to the legs with them being non resistant to heat.All the heat just go,s to the coil.I have tried making a kanger coil with kanthal and using a rubber grommet,you get a horrible rubber taste,yuk.But its ok using kanthal if your grommet is silicon and not rubber.

Yes. Agreed. I have some of the NR R NR wires and don't use them as I seem to get away with plain Kanthal.

(Actually, I might have given them away with an atomizer... )

Nichrome is fine BTW, some say it has a funky taste but that's not my experience with it.

I've just built a kanger head with some of this wire. I was rushing and didn't try too hard to get it right, but it vapes like a dream, just like a NV coil. Dead chuffed

It's finding somewhere that will sell to the public and doesn't have a ridiculous minimum order quantity. We have a minimum order charge of a tenner. I work for o rings limited. Have a look on the website there is a web enquiry form and we do sell to anyone

Prefer the silicone over nitrile (or whatever they call it) in most situations, seems to be much softer & makes it much easier to get stuff apart.

Silicone is much better than the nitrile. More pliable and better heat resistance. Silicone will usually be a few days lead time if it's an odd size but nothing like a fasttech order lol
