@ Dee (& Anne), Before getting stuck in soldering / gluing etc, and assuming you purchased from a UK supplier within the last 6 months, it might be worth considering contacting the supplier for repair / replacement. So long as the equipment failure isn't down to misuse or damage caused by you, then fixing the prob is up to them. See this link: www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/consumer-rights-refunds-exchange#goodsQuote from one of the relevant paras: Since 2003, consumers have had extra benefit from The Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations.
When goods are faulty, if you return them within six months then it's up to the shop to prove they weren't faulty when you bought them. After this, the 'burden of proof' shifts and it's up to you to prove they were faulty when you bought them. Maybe the way to go? John Only just seen this post John, it's so easy for posts to get lost in here! My LT was a gift from the generous and caring active members in here including the seller who supplied it when I was extremely ill before Christmas, I honestly didn't think I'd make it to Christmas. I've glued the window back in now, it only took a few minutes, no bother.

When my LT "broke", it was exactly the same way. Contacted the supplier, shipped it back to 'em, got a replacement about 7 days later (might have been 5...) Know how it feels, but try whoever sold it to ya first

Just checked back on the thread that I first posted which was on November 16th, I'd already had it a couple of weeks then and not used it. I'll give them a try but don't hold out too much hope I've contacted them now so will see what the reply is

Good idea to compliment good customer service. It shows that the supplier isn't against replacing faulty goods Kudos to all the good vendors
