I just purchased quite a large selection of concentrates from Chef's Vapour. One of these was Pink Spot Rip Tide which has no batch code but two dates; Born On 2-14, Use By 2-15.
I explained to Chef's Vapour that I won't be using most of these concentrates for at least a couple of months and could they advise on the out of date bottle. Their response was that it was a mislabeling at Pink Spot.
Would you be happy with that response, considering it's illegal in this country to sell products after their Use By date? I haven't purchased anything from Chefs before so I'm not sure what to do with it, perhaps it's safer to just bin it or does concentrate just lose it's flavour over time?

This has come up before. Apparently a typo on the dates, the concentrate is okay to use - Use by 2-16

Thank you Ripshod. I just needed confirmation it was okay. If it were out of date (I have some concentrate approaching sell by date), is it just a question of deteriorating flavour?

I've kept concentrates with no noticable deterioration up to 6 months beyond the use by, so I consider it advice rather than essential. So long as it's unopened I imagine a year beyond the date would be okay. That's just my opinion though scs

I've some concentrates that are well over a year old and there's no discernible change in flavour to recently bought bottles. But I do keep mine in the fridge so being cold and dark is the best storage for them.
