I have got myself a few DNA30D mod boards but cannot get them to work. I have wired up two boards and both do not detect the atomizer, shows 0.0 ohms and the voltage shows 0.0v. When first powered up it shows the DNA30 logo then the power starts at 0 watts and quickly cycles up to 30.0 W. I have connected a 5K ohm trimpot to Up-, Up+ and NC / Pot+ with the centre tap of the trimpot to Up+. The vaporizer has a resistance of 1.4 ohms and works on my battery box. Obviously the power is connected correctly as it powers up. The connections to vaporizer are connected to Output+ and Output-. I can measure 1.4 ohms across these two connections on the board. Power is a li-on battery 18650 measuring with an output of 4.1V, this shows as fully charged on the display battery indicator. Seeing that both boards both behave (misbehave) the same I am either doing something wrong or have two faulty boards which seems unlikely. I doubt that I have damaged anything during soldering as I am experienced in electronic construction and routinely design and assemble circuits. Does any one have any idea what I could have done wrong or what further checks I can make?
Thanks Munger

I have connected a 5K ohm trimpot to Up-, Up+ and NC / Pot+ with the centre tap of the trimpot to Up+. That's a major part of your problem right there. The DNA boards don't use a pot, buttons are used to set the power. Someone with more knowledge of the boards can help you diagnose anything else. ETA: And welcome to AAE-C btw

ETA: And welcome to AAE-C btw Dont know about a "major part" of the problem, it was THE PROBLEM!! All working now, thank you so much for your input. You saved me hours of hair tearing frustration. My boards are Chinese knock offs with no docs so I relied on a wiring diagram I found somewhere or other. As soon as I read your answer I thought of course! That explains the power cycling up to 30.0 W, the pot acts as an always pressed switch. Again, thanks heaps

From what I've seen the 'Chinese knockoffs' are just as good as legit boards. Happy vaping my friend
