Take Fasttech for instance, very low prices but if there's a hint of a 5% or 10% dissie code I tend to put the savings to something else, even if it's only a drip tip or two, or a cheap dripper. I end up spending more than I intended, so no doubt the discount works.

I have to say 90% of the time I don't bother even looking for a discount code if the price beats anywhere else I search for the cheapest company and use them,
For certain things like juice I tend to stay loyal to one vendor because a) the juice I use was my adv until I started mixing my own I now buy concentrates from them as well as they do a good deal and b) their service has always been excellent always next day delivery excluding Sunday', they do have a discount code I can remember and do use. But I also use myepack a lot because Ash has great fast service and the majority if the time he us the cheapest unless you are willing to wait weeks or months for delivery from China, to me great service is far better than discount code if it's there all well and great and a nice bonus but it's not the bee all and end all
Saying that I think that it should apply for specific forums only ways to that are vendors checking each time simeone puts a code in to make sure they are forum members waist of time and energy or make private forum discussion with discount codes, hidden unless you are a member I know some forums have that option to hide certain discussion areas but not all forums have that option or email a list out to all forum members when they have joined and say posted 10 times. But that's more work for forum owners and moderators or leave it as is and stop moaning about whether vendors offer discounts or not,

Whilst the dissy' code stickie on here is very useful, it is best just to google it. One forum you may get 5%, whereas on another, you might get the same product at 10%.

I'm like clairea either forget but more often just can't bother looking and just go to my favorite suppliers who I've had good service from. I don't really see why and what a discount rewards forum members for when you don't need to be registered to use them. I have to admit overall I'm with Bobsbeer and would rather see good customer service, quick delivery and the same keen price for all.

I think part of the problem that Bobsbeer is seeing is that most e-commerce software includes a dissy box as standard, regardless of whether the vendor offers a code or not. It would take far more effort to program that out of the standard template for the (probably) few customers of the software that didn't want it, hence it's there even on vendor's sites that don't use codes. At the end of the day, as a customer, you pays your money and makes your choice
