As above. It does my head in trying to find current discount codes. May I respectfully ask ALL vendors to drop their prices by 15% and get rid of all the discount codes crap. I don't think it does you any good. At the moment if I can't find a discount code but see a box on your website saying enter discount code I automatically abort my order. So either provide an automatic AAEC 15 to give me a deal, or drop your prices. The choice is yours. But I will only order from UK vendors thay offer no discount, but a good deal, or AAEC 15. And give me 15% discount on your 15% uprated prices. But it really pisses me off that I could get it cheaper if I entered a code. You have been warned.

How does the website know that it's you and not someone else?

It would be helpful if all vendors used the same code. I'm not saying they all have to offer the same discount but just use the same code it would save fannying about, perhaps the staff could look at making this a requirement for vendor status on the forum? Obviously an exception could be made for promotions like Christmas holidays or flash sales or something. It would also be helpful if vendors were required to inform staff if a code is expired rather than waiting for a customer to report dead codes.
Maybe also split the dissy code list into permanent and temporary codes.

Discount codes not only give you the opportunity to get something at a discounted rate because you are part of a special community or the vendor fancies you, but it also allows the vendor to track where people have gained the code and enables better and more targetted marketing.

I think it's nice that some vendors give discount codes to forum members they don't have to do it. But I agree rather trying to look for a code it's universal ie aaec so they know your are a forum member, I know that various vendors have different codes for different forums. I know a certain other forum hash POTV and either 5, 10, 15 or 20 depending on the amount of discount, so a universal aaec should be easy for the vendors to apply to their carts,

How I see it is that vendors add a % to their normal prices to account for the doscounts they offer to AAEC, POTV ect website members. On a few I have used POTV or other forums codes and got a discount. And I'm not even a member. So it is load of crap. Give ALL a decent price and let people choose who they give their business to.

Some of the companies I use offer discount codes, and I really appreciate them. I dont find it much hassle to check a single thread to confirm I'm using the right one. Besides, these companies offer good value even before discounts. Joose Juice are £7.25 for 60ml of juice, even with extra strength at a range of nic and vg/pg ratios. Cant argue with that for value, the dscount code is merely an added bonus.
Some vendors like Ash over at MyEPack offer lower prices with no discount codes. This is purely up to the people who run those businesses. Rather than thinking that vendors are overcharging, I feel many of them use the codes as a thankyou for the forum bringing them so much business, and they then accept the lower profit, which is offset by higher volume of sales.
The codes are really a reward for the free advertising the forum, and it's members give to vendors, rather than a rip off.

I understand OP's frustrations but vendors don't have to offer discount codes and buyers don't have to use them. OP cannot control the vendors so that leaves only one solution?

If this is your biggest problem in life, you are doing ok No it isn't the biggest problem in life, and it isn't even a problem, but it pisses me off. I would rather know I was getting a good deal than know I'm being ripped off. But I guess if people are happy to ripped off then I guess life is good.

But you're not getting ripped off, you're getting a discount. No one else is getting ripped off, they are paying the normal rate. You're looking at it in a very negative way.

I disagree *-SARIN-*. What is the normal rate? Why are some vendors offering stupid discounts? They want the business? But no business will offer a discount that results in a loss. Or at least an overall loss. Loss leader I can understand, but not a discount across the whole store. The vendors are in it to make a profit, which I understand, and I have no problem with that. What I object to is taking the piss. I expect that vendors factor in the discounts, that seem to be endemic across the the vaping world. So it pisses me off if I can't find a discount code. If I don't knock off 10% at least, I feel cheated. Hence I won't order from that vendor. But if they were honest and said we have reduced our prices for ALL, and they were reasonable, I would buy from them.
