So just happened to check new arrivals, and got a few surprises. Fasttech new arrivals1. 2 of todays arrivals already marked discontinued 2. Tube/box hybrid VW 50W mod - can be turned into a mech as well. here . Not too hopeful for a score of notes, but an interesting idea so got one winging it's way (slowly, via Venezuela) to me.

I was looking at the Smowell too, I'm just put off ny the allen screws to change the battery, I thought we'd got past that old chestnut People may point out it can be charged via USB and vaped whilst charging so need for regular battery changing. It always puts me off a bit though if a USB port is on the base. If I have a tank sat on top, well it makes sense to have a charging port anywhere else but the base. Well it makes sense to me anyway but that proves nothing. Jay

My choice is.... 'if the battery CAN be removed I will remove it for charging'
I trust my D4 far more than ANY on board charge point, hence my comment about the screws

Or throw it on the floor - in the garden - out of the car window. I prefer magnets, well fitted ones, also. But I'm not going to consider screws unsafe. I would rather stop altogether - ultimate safety. Mechs are the tools that usually cause venting. There are few with magnets.
