Got myself the Infinate clone, built it and was pleasantly surprised how well it performed. 5 minutes into fogging out the lounge, I got a major dry hit, looked at the ohms on my ipv2 and they were dancing up and. Did some research and found out it's the juice flow spring. I've tried to strech it tighten it, and the bloody thing won't have it. I know there is an upgrade spring on Cloud 9, but I don't wont to order one just in case it does the same. Has anyone had the same problem? And does the upgrade spring work?

I've tried the cloud 9 ones and some thicker ones that came with another clone . They both work fine , the original thin springs are a nightmare as you probably know

I expect you've got the spring by now leroy4bz but I got this from Steam Tuners before the revised spring came out. If you want to get rid of the spring altogether and a cheap option is a piece of tube, copper, ally, stainless, 4mm ID x 6mm OD although I reckon 5mm - 6.5mm OD would still do, and then fine tune the length so as you get good contact when the deck is open but not fully down to the stop, somewhere between 3.9mm and 4.1mm long.

Thanks @scooby I did see that but went for the spring, ordered 2 as my mate needed one too. It seems to have sorted it out, only time will tell.

Dragging up an old thread but... Did the spring from cloud 9 work? I've got the same problem with ohms jumping all over the place. I don't mind ordering a new spring if it works, but a £2 spring with a £3 carriage is not gonna sit well if it doesn't work Also, does anyone know if the fix with the tube means that you can't adjust the flow control anymore?

The flow control is just open or closed PhilT and the tube makes no difference to that except that without a spring there is no electrical connection when the flow is closed.

Cheers @scooby
So the tube sits over the flow control (touching the nut part(with the 4 holes)) and bottoming out on the square nut(sat in the insulator) when flow is open....
Great stuff....now to find a bit of tube!!

Thanks lisburnvapesKind of tried that...wound out the airflow screw then wound the 510 pin up against it. It was better but still a bit of wandering ohm readings. The permanant fix in the vid maybe better, but I'll try the tube first....these things are sent to try us

Great stuff....now to find a bit of tube!! Yep. It's simply a cylinder that replaces the spring. The length is the critical part, it must make contact when the deck is open. In practice that means it makes contact before it bottoms out and you'll see a slight gap between the threads the chimney screws to and the part of the deck that rises to block the flow when closed. Here it is positioned on the airflow screw Here is the steam tuners mod, same thing but their mod replaces the square counter nut that sits in the insulated cup and still has the spring fitted.

PhilT I got the C9 spring and it worked a treat. I raised a ticket withe FT and I've just got a replacement deck with a much stiffer spring. I did notice The Ohms still moving slightly, and it turned out to be a very lose air flow screw. I removed it all together, now it works as it should.
