I found a box mod yesterday that went up to 200w and asked why would you want a mid that vaped that high surely that is dangerous, post appears to have vanished, but please it's a genuine question why would you want a box mod that goes up to 200w my istick goes to 50w but I am not going to get near that, and could just use istick 30 if it wasn't for the shape. There are also a few for 120w
i know flavour improves with sub ohm, but to go up to 120-200w getting ridiculous or am I missing something isn't it getting to the point of being dangerous, I really would like to understand the point of vaping this high.

It's no more dangerous than vaping at 30w, if you have the correct spec battery to match the resistance of the atty there is no extra danger in terms of possible battery failure.

But that doesn't explain what it does though. I'm the same, what does it do for you? Is it bigger clouds, more throat hit, better flavour? It confuses me too. I use vamo at 9 w, squonk at 11w

So you get nothing more at vaping 200w than you do at 14 or 15 I justvdont understand why make them It seems they are just trying to get the biggespstvwattage when they should be concentrating on improving performance and technology

I would like to take a few minutes to explain this to you all, I have been vaping for a good while now and I started happily at 4 watts. I am now happy at 17 to 20 watts and it will take me some years to reach those higher levels.........but I have not got a clue either why anybody vapes at 150 to 200 watts. Just make out that you understand it all and say yes along with nodding your head...it works for me.

Not for me, I usually Vape at around 14-20w depending on the set up, I did try 50 w on my Ipv2 a couple of times, but apart from the vapour being hotter nothing much made me want to do it all the time.
Bonuses for folk vaping at higher watts is the technical side brings info that benefits us all ie Ohms law, battery safety and uses, coil builds etc. would this have happened if folk didn't push the limits, I doubt it.
So yes it may be a bit like my cars a Ford , yet I want a Ferrari!

I use vamo at 9 w, squonk at 11w Not my personal taste either but there is a practical reason for higher wattage devices too for people who like to dual coil, triple coil or quad coil, the more coils you add or the thicker gauge wire you use the lower your ohms are going to be and the more power you're going to have to dump into them to bring them up to temperature.

I didn't think I would need anything past 11w after using the Vamo V1, Provari, MVP and other similar devices. I normally vaped at 5 to 6w. That is until I found the Ego One with a 0.5ohm coil. That little thing fires up to 30w. Indeed my Istick 20w won't even fire that 0.5ohm coil (nice safety feature).
I have no idea what you would do with 200w, but there seems to be a definite progression towards more wattage requirements with quad coil drippers and the like. I got my Sigelei 100w purely on basis that I may need the extra power at some point, not too dissimilar to purchasing a 600hp car as mentioned above.

Sooooooo what is the benefit of triple coils quad coils etc.? I get bags of vapour and flavour with a single coil.......do the multi-coils double, triple or quadruple the vapour/flavour?

When I got my first Hana I would ease up to 20w on the odd occaision, but now I've got it set at 9.7w, my smart20 is set at 8w and my cloupor is running at 11w. I dont need to go higher to get a good vape so it does seem a bit of a waste (for me at least), the lowest ohmage I have built is 0.9 so I'm hardly a subber... But I'm happy
