Did you pair it with my favourite RTA for a reason?

Looks like another good build but the case isn't very impressive. The join holing the 2 parts together doesn't look too good or the 2 screws on both sides needed a bit more thought.

In actual fact ive had a bit of lets say discussion with the designer on shapeways about it. Its quoted as being able to take the dna40 but the chip is a little thicker than the 30 which i think it was really designed for so it will not close up anymore than that. I only finished it as i wanted something light and a bit less scratchable to use at work so i though what the heck it dont matter its going to get beating anyway. If the 18650 was just a couple of mil thiner it would have been ok. Anyway to cut a long story short its not one i would build for anyone else or recommend.

Glad you took my comment the right way. I thought it wasn't up to your standard build quality. I've managed to get a vamo board now, a 18650 battery holder and I'm about to try again.

Got to get some flux lol. I've cleaned my old soldering iron, ground it down so it's a lot finer and had a couple of practise runs. Even had a couple of successes without flux.

I've got a few plans lined up to try some basic mods first, the vamo, an OKR t10, a semi mech box, then a DNA 30. Can't find a cheap supplier of parts in the uk so looks like a long wait for china post. Things like momentary switches, 510s, OKR's, MOSFET and the resistors and fuses. They all seem well over double the price here.

Looks a little clumpy @windows but as you say it'll do the job you want.
What was the result of your 'discussion' with the designer?

Its odd it does look it but it feels really nice in the hand and the reduced height and weighing next to nothing i think its going to be better in a pocket at work then the shark im using. The designer said he's going to take some measurements to make sure its not been a bad print and get back to me.

Just an update on the poor print on this box. The designer has redone the cad to make the DNA40 fit so the gap is gone. Also credit where credit is due to both Shapeways and the designer. Shapeways have removed the design until it is corrected and given me a full refund and the designer is having a replacement printed with the new cad and then doing a dry fit before sending it on to me free of charge, result
