Just want to bring up an issue that has a lengthy thread on UKV, for those that aren't aware of this. The key points are that a few people have had problems with the Trustfire TR-001 charger that many people have - some just packed up, at least one partially melted. It seems that the problem was most likely not the charger but the mains lead supplied with it. First point is to check the fuse in the mains plug - best advice is that this should be 3 amps, not 13amps as is often the case. More seriously, it appears that many of these leads have fake BS (British Standards) accreditation markings on them - the kitemark etc. A couple of examples are shown here: www.bs1363.org.uk/Sure enough, I found my lead featured near the bottom of this page! Now obviously thousands of people (including me) have been using these cables with no problems. Equally obviously it is a better idea to use a lead with genuine BS accreditation. These are very widely available and are supplied with many electrical appliances - like me you have probably got a discarded one sculling around that came with something that is now dead.

I had this problem myself with my first TR001 which went with a bang.
I bought another and havn't had any problems so far with it.
However as I use it on a daily basis decided to check the fuse, and sure enough it was a 13 amp rated fuse.
So still having the old one I checked the fuse in that, and you guessed it, 13 amp fuse.
Have changed my fuse to 3 amp so don't expect any problems.
