ok folks what you think of this seeing this item on fast tech

plastic looks crap now what if you stripped plastic of got a nice peice of wood
drill the holes needed slide it in hay presto a cracking looking mod £30 budget

oh it would wonder how eay it would be to strip the plastic and not damage the copper or brass pipes inside

Little bit of gentle heat may expand the plastic, for £20.00 may just be worth a go

Never had a problem working with walnut, it planes beautifully. Sharp tools are the key.

Dont think the woodworking side should pose too much of a problem (apprentice cabinet maker many moons ago) electrics is more a case of stand well back I'm about to push the button.

I've thought about trying to do something similar with an old kato clone, might just have to give it a go
