ditto 10 years back i was on 24/7/365 call.. still to this day if my mobile phone rings i go into a mini panic ( when was my last drink.. can i drive etc..) and my mobile is only turned on when i want it, its a tool for my convenience, and consequently have yet to opt for a proper smart phone purely on cost grounds as a £10 top up can last months n months as it is,, now the tech is just about caught up it would be grand not to have to tote a 7 or 9" lappy about for (free) data coms..

I bought an el cheapo android smartphone with unlocked dual sim capability, i have one sim which i've had for years which i use purely for incoming calls because everyone has that number and i can't be bothered with contacting people to update contact info, the other sim slot i look for the best deals on offer at the time and use for outgoing calls etc and when a better deal comes up from another company i can just pull that sim out and bin it.

Would be good to know whose network they are going to piggyback. I work all over the gaff, and 3 in particular has trouble in some areas.

I also use GiffGaff...with payback it ends up on average that they pay me £50-£60 a year to use them...on Hokey Cokey goody bag. So for me already free. Hubby is on EE so I've registered for him on freedompop
