Got my new Evod2 yesterday from Fasttech along with the Evod glass p3, both authentic Kanger products. Looking at the coils I expected them to be the same, no they are not, the Evod2 coils have not got the cotton, so I presume they are not rebuildable. Why is this?

These could be the "new" style of kanger dual coil heads. If they are you'll see two small holes where the wicks used to protrude in the old versions. Here's the newer version The good news is they can be rebuilt quite easily. When you remove the chimney (this is the hard part, probably need some pliers) you can then remove a small sleeve which will effectivly turn the head back into the old style. After removing this rebuilding is the same as it was before. You'll either need to replace the sleeve or get some spare rubber spacers after rebuilding.

Oh ok thanks for that info, I can't do re-coiling so it's no problem, just that I have never seen that before on Evods.

You should be able to use the "old style" with the wicks showing in the Evod, just compare them side by side to check the heights match. if the tube where the coil sits seems too low you can add another silicone cup facing the other way up (forming a cup) to bring it up to the same height. Edit: Added picture
