xantivenxm welcome to AAEC and well done on knocking the smokes on the head. As for hardware don't worry so much about fixed or separate batteries unless you're planning on buying every mod in sight like me, the batteries in a fixed battery mod should hold up for a good year or so, you'll definitely get your monies worth out of the thing before the battery goes up the spout. The real advantage to a removable battery is you can always have spare batteries already charged so you don't have to wait around for your mod to charge. My vote would be for the IPV Mini 2, it's a nice size fits nicely in the hand and it's a versatile little workhorse that will work with any tank on the market, takes one 18650 battery and has USB charging. I would couple that with a Subtank Mini again for it's versatility, you can buy readymade coil heads for it or you can make your own coils and use the rebuildable head.

Also your Twist is an in-built battery. Haha! Exactly why I thought I should get replaceable! Also possibly because I use rechargeable AA/AAA's at home for remotes, xbox controllers, etc etc so I'm used to having a battery on charge while I'm using another.

Greetings and to AAEC xantivenxmCongrats on leaving the "evil weed" behind. IMO whatever you decide to go for will be dictated by your own budget..just be carefull of the slippery slope into that dreaded ailment " Shineyitus" there is no kown cure

Welcome xantivenxmThere was a time when a replaceable battery was the only logic. Now that's not the case so much. E-cig mods are not known for their reliability, unless you spend quite a bit of money (and buy from a company that will repair/replace). Batteries themselves are also cheap now (good ones, not rubbishy Trustfires) so paying £79 for a mod that takes a battery might pay for itself, but then again, maybe not. There are plenty of us who bought £100 mods and the mod itself didn't outlive the battery. By the way - you linked to a comment about the Kanger subox on a site called ecigclick. I know it was just a place for people to see what you were talking about, but be very careful reading up on e-cigs at review sites. Many of them are not to be trusted, as they are not independent and exist to make money from people looking for their next purchase, or their first purchase even.

welcome aboard... fwiw my 2p's worth is in agreement with the above, isticks are Vgood for what they are simple small easy to use battery mods, i have a 50w version which is my go to mod for taking out and about. the kangertech subtanks (full size, mini, and nano) are popular atomisers as they provide both off the shelf coil head replacement options and the ability to build and add your own coils if you want. and also provide air intake control from very open to quite tight too to suite all preferences. Since buying and using atomisrs that allow a big restriction-less draw ive not looked back, much better imho than the things you need to suck on to vape. .. one of the 'dangers' or fun aspects of joining this lil corner of the web is some folk find and post news of the newest mods and atty's as they become available and its very tempting to start collecting them ALL hrumph cough cough... (5 x mods and 11 x atty's in my case since joining up here, not to mention all the flavour concentrates and mixing gear hehe) have a look about on the web for ideas and what you think may suit or what you like the look of and post here to check its good kit .. UK sellers cant match chinese seller prices but can deliver a LOT quicker this is a good uk site imho myepack.co.uk/ both for prices and customer service..

xantivenxm Welcome to our friendly forum. DiscoDes has given you sound advice for your next step. I would be wary to suggest that at this stage of vaping that you enter along a sub-ohms route, you need to gain further knowledge especially relating to the usage of right type of batteries. Read up and ask questions on this forum. Wealth of info available, especially for "SAFE VAPING"

Thanks It is definitely too tempting to go crazy getting all sorts of new atomizers, mods and all sorts lol! I will do lots more reading. I'm now trying to get my head around the protected/unprotected batteries and whether it is suitable in any device or only certain ones or what.. Seems like mods that have battery protection warnings that stop you when the battery gets low enough don't need a protected battery. . But mods that don't have this functionality do need protected batteries. Thankfully I have an electronics degree or all this ohm and current calculation would go over my head lol. Might be a little rusty as I chose a different career path but it's still embedded in my brain! What I liked about the kanger subox is three things: 1) it's kanger - I guess I'm biased because I started with the evod, my tanks are kanger due to their great airflow control etc. Just feel happy with their brand 2) it looks pretty sharp lol 3) I can still use my aerotank mega with it if I don't go for the sub tank straight away - and at £50 it's not too bad! Will keep reading and reading before spending!

FT says 1 * 18650 and then doesn't include the battery.. If it comes out at £38-£39, and includes an 'effectively' £20 subtank, what a steal!! Looks great and this is coming from somebody who thought the original K-Box was not worth buying. NICE.

My istick 20w the first that was available is still going strong after 7 months. I do however have 4 different colours and use them all but I think they last a good while for the price some of the clones from fasttech are very cheap and if you pick UK express delivery only take around a week to arrive. I would say that if I was upgrading (which I'm not at the moment) I would go for the 50w istick type as double battery life so less recharging and having seen one in use not so much bigger or heavier. mine lasted 5-6 months of being used every day, the battery is fine on it, it just gives you what ever watts it wants to as what you tell it, but 6 months for 20 quid, I can live with that.

Too right. Better than a £99.99 Joyetech mod that dies after 5 months and Joyetech only offer 3 months... if at all. After my run-in with the world's most annoying e-cig brand, I got a Vamo for £20 that is still here to this day. I am wary of Joyetech now. Kanger is mostly good i.m.o.

Heyas and welcome, welldone on give up the stinkies. Whilst your thinking about new shineys my suggestion would be the sigelie mini or ivp mini.
Anouther thing you might find interesting is mixing your own eliquid. Check out the mixing section .
Where about are you based? As might be an idea to see if anyone nearish to you for a meetup.
