In praise of silicone adhesive

One thing that has been a royal pain in the posterior with electronic mods is how they are so susceptible to leakage from the atty. One of mine burned out after 3 months due to juice from attys getting inside. The one I'm using at the moment, a Hcigar DNA40, has a magnetic back covering the battery and electronics, the latter covered with a plastic bezel that fits over the board. Now, every farts end I'm taking the back off, checking there's no VG leaking into the box threatening the electronics. Till this week... when I grabbed a tube of silicone adhesive and finger-smeared around the gap between the bezel and the case, sealing it in place. Now when the atty does wee (and the Subtank Mini does) it wees outside the box, nothing gets into the electronics. Ok, I need to ensure it doesn't piss ejuice. But when it does, I'm not shitting my kex wondering if the mod is intact. Hooray for silicone adhesive.

Oh and if you want to try this at home... Make sure you smear any excess adhesive (that which isn't in a gap) off, and leave the back off while it sets. Otherwise you'll have a perfectly hermetically sealed mod, with no way of getting into it
