Just read at ukv and then after on ecf about someone with some battery testing equiptment testing the new aspire 18650 40a batteries out and it seems from the thread that at around 30amp they got too hot and started to vent in the test equiptment, so they think its more likely rated at 15a continuous and also not hybrid chemistry but ICR. Todd was on the ecf thread and is gonna send torchy some of those aspire batts just to have another test out there and has alerted aspire about this too. So if anyone is using them and it feels too hot, maybe back off a bit to keep at the 15a limit, hopefully torchy gets a look at them soon though too. ukvapers.org/Thread-Safety-warning-Aspire-40A-18650D-batterieswww.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/aspire-40a-18650d-cell-tests-results-not-good.677854/

Yea I think most are re wraps of something, most likely the ones who will bring out higher drain batteries than the current ones with higher mah would be samsung, sony, sanyo, lg, or panasonic, the aspire one seemed bit pricey too afaik, when you compare with say samsungs from ft Yea I dunno how long torchy's batteries usually take to arrive but it won't be anything like some arrivivng from ft earlier this year that took 2 months lol - they do have faster shipping for batteries now though again luckily!

I've gotta be honest I dont rate the samsungs much, I've got a pair and they have no where near the oomph the purple efest ones have. The ones am waiting on are Sony rewraps, need em for a vaporflask that's en route

Yea seems the sonys are good, I read there may be panasonic 4000mah 18650s in the works too lol but maybe not high drain, could be interesting though for under 10amp vaping like alot of the other panasonics.

Yea definitely alot to choose from nowadays, used to just be the AW's that were reccomended years ago and the aa's are great these days too with some holding their charge for ages, decades ago the rechargeable aa's were so bad lol Hopefully future ecigs will be powered by graphene batteries in the future, sounds like theyre getting close, hopefully they make em in 18650 sizes too physicsworld.com/cws/article/news/2010/nov/26/graphene-supercapacitor-breaks-storage-record
