Due to my domestic circumstances, the only time I can visit certain Vape shops is when I've got 3 small children in tow, aged 1 to 5.
One shop I went into in Gosport, the young guy behind the counter kept glaring at me when he thought I wasn't looking. Maybe he didn't like my face, maybe he thought I shouldn't have children in there, or maybe he's just a nob.
I wondered what people's thought are on this. I know Vape shops are usually full of fog but I'm not even convinced of the dangers of passive smoking, let alone passive Vaping.

Most vape shops I have been in have been great. Never fogged in the slightest. Until I went into the one in the middle of Dundee. That was the most clouded out shop I'd ever seen. Certainly not sure I'd take my kids there. Not really because I think passive vaping might be dangerous to them (I don't believe first hand vaping to be all that dangerous), but I don't know why to be honest. That being said, apart from in the car, I don't vape in front of the kids either.

I ALWAYS take my sons into my local B&M they both sit on the sofa and are fascinated by all the shiny things, it's what's that do, what's that for all very interested in everything. The shop owner Is good as gold with em even when they must bug the hell outta him with questions.
As a parent I'd much rather they showed an interest in that than smoking. off course I'd rather they didn't do either ! But if they choose vaping when older I'm not gonna chew em out over it.
They are both even at 12 and 14 very aware of the dangers of smoking, my 14 yr old even makes the odd coil for me, saying I'm helping keep you of the fags. They look at it as Dads interesting hobby. They both also know better than to touch anything vape related apart from unused coils and new cotton !

Interesting. While I don't think secondary vaping is in the slightest bit harmful I do not vape in front of children; or at least do it so stealthily it would not be seen. I guess I just think we should all avoid being accused of introducing children to nicotine in any form.
Edit I do not have children; I might have a different view if I did.

Children can see vapers anywhere..... I vape at the bus stop (not in folks faces) and wee ones pass me all the time. I've even vaped in front of a 4 year old in someone's house Chill!!! If they ask what it is (Aged 4) - it's a steam machine and not for children. Simples . Like I said to my 80+ uncle the other week - it works on the same logic as a kettle. Would you let children play with a kettle when it's plugged in? Same principle. That's all they need to know.

We get people bringing their kids in the shop all the time. I don't mind kids coming in at all. I do mind when they scribble all over the TW TPD petition that we have on the table for customers to sign! Have sent a few pages of signatures in with strange drawings on them!

I can understand it if the little monsters don't behave, but mine are as good as gold. It's the principle of taking your kids into a den of iniquity I'm questioning, not that I think Vaping is iniquitous, just a figure of speech

Not having kids I can't really comment however I would say that it shouldn't be a major problem taking them into the shop, kids can go into pubs/restaurants for a meal but can't drink alcohol, so taking them into a vape shop where they can't vape is similar (isn't it??) As long as kids are well behaved !! what really bugs me is those ones who run around a restaurant screaming and playing around while your trying to enjoy a meal, I'd have got a slap round the back of the legs if I'd done that as a child . I remember once going out for a meal and I didn't behave, in the end my dad took me out to the car and left me there while him, mum and my sister carried on with their meal !!!!!!! LOL

HaroldTheBarrel, never mind " Vape Shop Etiquette" In any public place, I would expect children to be well behaved..........sadly it seems that after being encouraged to be "creative" and told that they are " young people" The notion of good behaviour and discipline has been forsaken by some parents. All credit to you for behaving differently.

We allow kids in the shop - but, not upstairs in the Flavour Station - too easy for them to grab a clearomiser if the parents are distracted. Any misbehaving though and they get thrown down the cellar with Griz
