Yep, take the bottom pin out, pull out the silicone bung, push a small screwdriver out from the base of the head which will remove the old coil and wicking. Make the new coil and insert from the top, until both legs come out of the bottom of the head. Move the coil up or down until you can see it through the holes and the coil is in lime with both holes. Insert a drill bit or small screwdriver through the hole and then through the coil so it comes out the opposite hole, thus holding it in place. Slip the silicone grommet over one leg and push the grommet into the head, put the metal bottom pin back in, thread your wicking material through the hole and the coil and out through the other hole, fluff it up so that both holes are completely full, snip of about a couple of mm outside each hole. Trim the excess legs of very flush to the base of the head, job done! xantivenxmJust to ask what thickness of wire you use, as, when I tried, I couldn't get the silicone grommet back in. Frustrating to say the least, lol.

The new vertical coil works a treat. I weaned myself down to 6mg/0.6% nic before I got the subox. I have already bought 0 nic juice as I've made myself sick twice already including right now lol. Decided from now on I shall sub ohm with 0 nic and use my aerotanks for the 6mg if I need it. But hopefully I am on the way to becoming nicotine-free

Thank you very much prr Hope your recovery is going really well. If I use OCC's at any point, will bear in mind your kind offer. Am intrigued as to how that little stopper goes back on, lol ... the wire (24 awg) was just too thick I think.

24 is a bit thick. I use 28, and putting the rubber grommet on is a bit fiddly.

I have managed to recoil an OCC sub tank head *cheer*bought a tank from the classies, and as I only have the 20w istick or 15w VTRs, sub ohm isn't an option until the subox arrives. But the subtank came with a couple of occ heads and last night I actually managed to put a new coil in using .28 Kanthal. Is a bit fiddly, especially lining up the coil with the little holes. But I persevered and it works! Am amazed. However, if the new kit comes with vertical coils I have no blummin chance. So peeps, if you fancy having a go, give yourself time, sit and faff. If I can make one work, anyone can...
