I have some of these bell tanks and they greatly reduce the size of my sub tanks and they don't look to shabby neither

Bought mine as the Subtank Mini makes my setup top heavy, leading to all fall down. I was already on the spare glass. I've sent for more.

saw a utube the other day which showed how to fill one of these up beyond the usual level. get a drinking straw, cut a length off about 3 inches and split it along its length. Roll the split straw between your fingers and it should reduce its diameter, when small enough push into the drip tip socket in the bell cap so it comes out the other end. with the split straw plugging the vapour chimney fill with juice to a mm or 2 under the thread on the bell cap and then fit the base/coil head combo, as u push in the straw will be pushed out and leave you with a totally full of juice bell cap top

I tried this tonight to fill my Subtank mini and bell caps ready for the golf course tomorrow. Worked perfectly on the bell cap but the chimney on the Subtank seems narrower. The straw pushed the coil down and pulled the wicks away from the airholes. I didn't notice and set it to the side to let a totally brimmed tank of juice leak all over the place. To make matters worse I'm away for the weekend and have no spare coiling equipment, wicks or spare heads with me. Leaves me with just the bell tank for the weekend - if the head goes in it I'm banjaxed!!! (I have a Protank 2 as an emergency backup but need my tasty lung hits these days!!!)

I've had the same kinda nightmare at work before so my solution was... Take one 2x18650 battery cases. Add a sheet of jap cotton, a half dozen coils you made before, a blue screwdriver or two, and a pair of folding scissors. Place into your handbag/rucksack/golfbag and enjoy a recoil on the go kit. It's been a lifesaver at wok for me. Very little outlay and you can recoil on the move.

This time, and obviously only because in a pinch, I've disassembled it, re shaped the coil and rewicked it with one of the OH's cotton wool balls. Trying to decide whether to try it or not....

well, the battery case, and screwdrivers you probably have already, and if not will get for pennies. The folding scissors can be had for £2 or less so not much financial outlay. In all, I'm really glad I did this. Taking this on the road makes vaping much safer(in a not reverting to stinkies way, not the exploding battery way)

So sorry for the steer into disaster muckyboy fwiw i also discovered that if you vape with thicker juice simply plugging a bell caps drip tip hole with something airtight (bit of ptfe tape or cling film over a drip tips bottom for example) will let you fill the bell cap and the air in the chimney stays trapped below the thick juice long enough for you to pop the base back on, the greater surface tension of a thick juice works for you.. Dunno if it will work with the original subtank tank, but if the chimney is narrower it should???? just remember to pull the film off the drip tip bottom, and give the atty a blow thru into a tissue over the air in vent to clear any unwanted juice in the air way and your good to go.. My subtank mini bases are all fasttech clones which may be why for the first few hours a full to the brim bell cap top will weep a lil juice from the base?? I have taken to filling and then wrapping with a small square of paper towel secured with a rubber band, the towel absorbs any juice weeping out of the base, and in this weather will dry out when the weeping has ceased.. if this is old news soz for the repetition.. thatguy good tip for the emergency coilling kit..

IT wasn't a steer into disaster, was just comenting to another poster that a reciling/rewicking on the go kit can be built for pennies. I've tried a bell cap for the subtank but the one I got was a disaster. The central chimney was too long and when assembled it distorted the coil and wick. Not a biggie for us, since the wife and me are not great fans of the tank.

Portable recoiling / re wicking kit is on the to do list!
