can some one please recommend me a good reel of solder to use. I have tried to do my research on this matter and now I'm more confused than ever, do I have leaded or unleaded,do I go for one with the flux built in and if so what mix, and what thickness shall I need.the list goes on and on. So if some one with experience can help me out then that would be fab. and if you got a link to the dam stuff that will be even better. thank you.

I got my solder from wilko, it's fine....I prefer separate flux.

Any as long as its got a rosin flux core, the flux wetts the surfaces for a good connection. if like me your not the most skilled with a soldering iron and tend to work and rework a joint grab a pot of plumbers soldering flux too and if a reworked connection is Blobing and not flowing, apply more flux from the tub with a pin and dip the iron tip in the flux too also kapton tape is heat resistant and can be used to mask off areas you dont want the solder to flow to
