Just got back from Poitiers, small city/big town in central France and was amazed by the huge number of people vaping and very few smokers. To add to this, within about a square mile of the main square there were 5 large shops selling a wide range of juices, high end hardware and clones. Anyone seen such popular gaping abroad?

Yes, I was amazed. When driving the length of France last year it seemed that every one horse (burger) town or village had at least one vape shop. While the selection was never great there was usually something unique to buy. For example; how could I pass up on some Pastis eliquid? I think it's hardly surprising there's such a big vaping presence. I always thought the French were the biggiest smokers in Europe – the cigarette glued to the bottom lip is as much a french cliché as berets, stripey tops, and strings of onions. For them to embrace vaping seems a natural progression. I'm very pleased that there's a significant French presence at Vapefest this year, both juice and hardware with a unique French esthétique.

I was in Tours a couple of summers ago and was amazed to visit a small vaping shop with a brilliant range of juice, atomisers, mods and other vaping accessories. I was also surprised by how many vapers there were on the streets. I can only guess that vaping culture has got much more popular in the ensuing two years and French smokers are converting in their droves. Can only be a good think I think!

It is good that it's popular here & now on going out, normally it's the raised vaping salute a couple of times at the very least. With some form of vaping gear & or liquids sold in most tabacs. Two in my village sell Ego/Evod style & liquid, plus Aldi do too. Along with the tabacs in the nearest town, which isn't big, there are 3 vaping shops & also, Carrefour is now carrying (expensive) basics. In the vaping shops, €50+ for an iStick20 is a tad steep though, yes their overheads are high, but still. At least, now, in an emergency, we're surrounded & that is definitely a good thing.

Could be good for us, with the potential new regs coming, the French don't seem to take anything lying down.
