Amazing how they managed to fit that functionality into such a small circuit..
But at $45 it's a very steep price..

(((( Blakey )))) I guess in comparison to the price of a Darwin, £175 I think they were Macca . . . $45 seems like a bargain.

Oh I am sure it has it's appeal to people who want it and there seem to be plenty who do.. I am sure in many cases it also involves the purchase of an extension of some description or using smaller batteries. All the same, technically, it's a very interesting device in such a small package.

Amazing how they managed to fit that functionality into such a small circuit.. But at $45 it's a very steep price.. the great thing is though its transferable into any mod you have... so you buy one and can pop it in and out of your cheaper* mechanical mods ...which will give you much more versatility and choice *cheaper than mods with variable voltage built in

I just got this site which transfers watts to voltage the way I understand www.crownaudio.com/apps_htm/designtools/ohms-law.htm I guess the 10 watt limit would be more than enough for me as when I use a new 2.5 ohm clearo I vape it at max 4.4 volts (This just amounts to 7.5 watts) so I guess I would also join the queue for the kick

Am I right in thinking this would be too much faff for someone who vapes a lot of different flavours in one day?
If I'm right, different flavours taste better at different voltages, on the same resistance attys, meaning different flavours taste better at different wattages essentially. So every time the flavour is changed, you'd have to open up the mod to change the desired wattage right? Where as on a VV mod, you can calculate the voltage you need, to achieve the desired wattage, and adjust accordingly without opening up the device? Or have I got this all completely wrong?

You are right that if you change flavours constantly and they vape best at different wattages, you will be opening up the mod to adjust. But most of these mods can be opened very quickly and easily simply to change batteries, so should not present any great difficulty.
From what I understand the kick is for those beautiful looking mods which do not have a VV facility. The kick will also give you a very consistent vape through the charge of the battery and will also adjust wattage automatically if you throw a different resistance cart at it.
VV devices may or may not do that depending on what type their output is ie., linear or regulated. On many of them, the voltages will start dipping pretty quickly. You may think it's set at a particular voltage but you won't be getting it under load.

As Macca says really Alvo . . . where The Kick scores over a VV device, is that once you've set your wattage according to what your personal preference is . . . anything you put on the device will perform to that wattage setting. So, say you enjoy a 8.6 watt ( circa 4.7v ) vape . . . whatever cartomiser/atomiser etc you screw in, it will perform to that specification. Unlike a VV device, where you will have to adjust your voltage to suit what you screw in.
