I have collected 3 x TC mods now, 1) Dovpo 50w TC (gearbest circa £25/$40) 2) SXK Nebula SXK60 (3fvape £34/$53) 3) Snowolf200 (gearbest £57/$88) This is just my take on the mods ive had access to the Dovpo arrived first and was my introduction into this type of vaping. I did manage 1 nickel coil build but it didnt survive the rewicking after a burn test that indicated 280C was the singe temp of a dry cotton wick. So I have been using subtanks and clones with the kanger Ni200 0.15ohm heads fitted exclusively for temp controlled vaping. Next to arrive was the SXK I have not had much time to explore all its features, but it works pretty much the same as the dovpo.. The reason i didnt explore the SKX was it arrived an hour before the snowwolf200 Out of the box the snowwolf is set to start temp controlled vaping at 199w Yowzer!! and with that sort of power to kick off with your gonna be hitting the temp limit pdq and as expected the power cuts and fluctuates giving a on off vape, i have it tuned down to start at 28W now and have set the temp limit to 230C combined provide a good steady vape with lots of flavour and plenty of cloud (for me).. So All of them read the NI200 OCC coil heads a little low, 0.11-0.12 ohms sometimes, for the 0.15 oum occ coils, removing and re-adding the atty can force a new reading and will sometimes give a better reading. Something worth watching for, as its the basis for the temp limiting/control limit guestimate, so the limit temp may need adjusting accordingly to avoid singing or dry hits, it depends somewhat on how accurate the initial reading of any burn test coils used was Currently the snow wolf is my at hand mod, for a 2 x 18650 mod its a good size and hand fit, tho due to the 2 x batteries and its solid build and shiny(slippy) surface it is heavier in the hand and a late night dozy grip could easily let it slip from the hand. verdict so far All Good

I don't know if this is what you meant phatfil but the snowwolf won't go upto 199w in tc mode and will only go upto 70w in tc

With kanthal or nichrome yes but with tc you can't, you can put the wattage upto 200w but it wont fire past 70w if you look at the display, it's the same in the v2 which hasn't been released yet the v2 will allow you to lock your wattage and temp and also have auto detect for kanthal/ nickel and I believe choose the temp/wattage suitable to the build

If you're struggling with wrapping/wicking nickel you can use the nebula's nickel purity setting to run titanium wire. Ti is much more like kathal just don't dry burn or over heat it. I'm using a 26g 6 wrap single coil in my subtank which is reading .23 ohms on my nebula but which is closer to .3 in reality.

After a weekend of TC vaping ive used the SXK nebula a lot more than the snow wolf, The Snow wolf is more weighty in the hand and can late at night start to slip from a less than tight grip, its not just the extra battery adding to the weight but the solid SS case of the snow wolf too. While i cant fault the snow wolfs features or operation i find myself vaping the sxk more frequently as its much lighter in the hand and easier to keep hold of when getting drowsy at night.. so have decided to offer the Snow wolf up for sale for £60 inc PNP to Uk addresses while its stil in its as new condition..

Its a very tidy lil mod isnt it csmith10? btw where do you find a guide to using the nickel purity setting? and how can it be used to allow the use of other wires?? my very limited understanding of resistance/temp relationship for any given metal is a different coeeficient value from the next metal, while a purity setting will be for 'fine tuning' around the coeficient mapping?? and wont shift the curve/lookup to map a different metal?? Only reference i have found is in the manual which indicates N1200 should have a purity setting of 70-75 ??? beyond that im blind..

Set side a few hours and troll though this thread lol www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/tc-beyond-ni200-nickel-purity-dicodes-ti-ss-resistherm-nife30-coefficient-of-resistance.676506/The OP has a few mods with the SXK chip and seems to know what he's talking about. As a side note some people have been using the DNA40 and other devices with Ti wire and just off setting the temp by about -100f. Have you tried the micro USB port for charging yet?
