Thought I would start a thread for the builds that not all temp limiting mods support for anyone to post on. Know the min resistance you mod can handle before trying any of these. I will kick off with a Clapton 0.2 mm around 0.3 mm Ni200 (home made). 7 over 6 wraps on an 3.2 mm former, in a FT Veloicity comes out at 0.065 ohm on the DNA200. Had it up to 100 W with 200 W pre-heat no probs, but I can only inhale fast enough for it to limit it to below 50 W (0 nic 100% PG). A very easy build to do once you have made the wire. Using Puff Jap cotton.

Look smart, love those back stops on them posts, makes life easy on straight forward thinner wire builds... ....so what watts you got to throw at that build for temp protection to cut in at 390f (think that's your preference?)

Wow I like this thread, bringing the geek back out of me, wish I hadn't took the break from vaping for so long!! Fell way too far behind. Still, keeps the grey matter active, looks like I'm saving for a DNA200 now

Didn't have enough liquid managed to get much closer to the 100 W at 400 F Ok had a beer........That graph is a live puff, the chip is programmed to predict..ie dropping the pre heat power early to a level knowing it's going hit temp?

Yes live puff letsavit it's much easier than looking at the screen on the side, I am no cloud chaser as you know, IIRC about 3 sec, you can see the preheat stop at 300 F.

Actually maybe I is a cloud chaser looking at the plot I did have it at 100 W for at least a second before my lungs gave up, the numbers are the value at the end of the line. So for me about 100 W is about the right power for 400 F as the temp limit was not needed for the whole puff just where I slowed up a little.

Ok tonight's question, why drop 100 degrees before and not go all the way before it cuts.. Get to temp quicker, the cross over on the graph higher?

Just the way the did it letsavit probably to be on the safe side, they are changing a bit with the 200 the 40 was made to not exceed the temp and the 200 to stay at the temp. John was saying that means making a board that can deliver 250 W when you have a higher mod resistance and low ohm coil. I was playing and my mod measured 0.010 ohm with 2.5 mm copper in the Veloicty, they say use 70-80% of that as the atty is some of that figure. When you set your mod resistance 0.007 ohm the vape temp is a bit lower but more accurate, it is more accurate than the 40 anyway.

To cerebrate my 8,000th post and the motor getting a MOT pass no work required for the 3rd year in a row going to post my favourite build. Dual 3 mm ss rope wicks, 2 layers #500 mesh, 5 wraps of 0.5 x 0.1 mm Ribbon Ni200 about 0.065 ohm, vaping at 36 W.

decoy I have been sticking to the dual wickers, that is a Origen V2 Genesis from GearBest, better than 2 versions I tried from Focal. They vape really well, the thin deck and short wicks keep up the wicking with any amount of power I can put in before the temp limit hits due to airflow. They have a chamber reducer, dual or single wicks, massive extra wick holes for cotton & adjustable airflow, I drill the small wick holes to 3.5 mm for 3 mm rope + mesh. Krakens are good, but not as flexible and don wick quite as well, but built like a brick out house. I can't really comment on the single wick ones about now, but the RSST with drilled out air hole and home made chamber reducer vape well at decent watts, leaky and the top cap comes off as soon as you look at it.

One of these days I'll have to buy a pre coiled one from you What Vale method is this for? Squonkers? Looks like it wicks juice from below the deck. Or is it purely dripper? Also due to no cotton I take it these builds last forever ?
