Just upgraded from Windows 7. I was signed up for a notification which never arrived (swines, where's my free stuff?) but a guy at work alerted me that you can go download the whole installer from this page : Windoes 10. While it was downloading I chanced upon this gem from someone. If you clicky through the options during install, it will gleefully tell Microsoft and 'trusted partners' (CIA, third parties selling you crap) where you've been, where you are, what you type, and probably what colour you just painted the spare room in. However you can avoid that, if the options are to be trusted. Haha. During the install process - took 3.5 hours on my reasonably quick machine with a 50MB internet line (30 mins download, 3 hours install) - there's not a lot to do. However I'll crosspost from a site I was on just a few mins ago to share the experience. "- During installation it just seems to stop responding in places. There are two % progress indicators, a total and a current group of tasks (three of them). Ignore it if it stops dead. It will pick up. - At 70% or so it woke up all my attached devices including the webcam mic and speakers, causing a huge howlaround which with the volume turned down persisted for half an hour. Ossum. - You're not Welcome'd to Windows. Now it says Hi. The options to 'tell us everything' 'no **** off' can be accessed in the last stage of upgrading by avoiding Express setup and going for Advanced options. Easy enough once you're aware of it. I'm browsing via Chrome, the colour scheme has gone all silver. Tabs are silver. It's very bright generally. Will try Edge later but no rush. Curtana can wait until someone comes up with funny things to get it to say. Tiny update : OpenOffice4 works just fine. Good. Not paying a bean for Orifice365 if I can avoid it."

Update : Dual Monitor just crashed. Not a biggie, as Win8 and Win10 both have dual monitor taskbar support natively. Goodbye free addon, you were good to me in Win7.
