Hi, Just ordered the above wire from Fasttech... www.fasttech.com/products/3033/10014843/2645000When I wrapped a coil 3mm , 10 wraps (single coil) it came out at 0.6 on my DNA40.. I'm in TC mode on a Vaporflask, (but the flask is going into 'normal mode' indicating its in Wattage mode, -not showing Fahrenheit) but I'm wary, as NI200 should be coming out around 0.12... What am I doing wrong? Thanks Mike

That seems low mike weaver93,I think too low for the DNA40, are the coils touching each other?

On a 3mm bit, how many wraps would you suggest?? My other NI200 coils are around 0.12, but I assume this NI200 wire is twisted with Kanthal or Nichrome..

Sorry I misread it as 0.06 According to SteamEngne you need 64 wraps to get to 0.6 ohm! but if you swap it for Kanthal it only needs 4 wraps for 0.6 ohm. It doesn't add up to me, if you have some 0.3 mm Ni200 try twisting some of that to compare.

The wire seems strange. Twisting nickel is easier than twisting kanthal, I just use a rechargeable drill and do about 2.5 m at a time. Just put something hook shaped in the drill like a cup hook or Allen key, I use a tent peg, cut double the length you want + 10%, fix the ends to something solid like a door handle or shelf, twisting together like a nib bag tie is normally enough, then hook it and pull straight with the drill, not really tight and run the drill. When finish gently releases the pressure and if it shows signs of wanting to buckle put the drill in reverse for a bit, it shouldn't do this with nickel, but kanthal does. IIRC chykensa spins it tied to a saucepan handle and finds it less trouble than going to the shed to get the drill.

Yep, too right VapingBad, small saucepan with a hole in the handle, did about 3/4 of a metre folded in half, spun it up in around 30 seconds, snapped at the pliers en when it was done, and I even managed to catch the saucepan before it hit the quarry tiles! No kinking at all, just perfectly twisted wire. mike weaver93, you can even use a mug or anything fairly weighty with a hole or handle
