I'm back from hols - will take me a while to catch up again.

Hi all, Just to let you know, or those who know me on here, I am back from Holidays and European tour in Motorhome around Germany and Austria.

Now, Clivia , you will be pleased to read this year we managed to do Innsbruck this year after failing to last summer. Found the Old Town as you mentioned and was superb. We stayed on a campsite in Hall at the Schwimmbad and got the train in. Really glad we did this year as 1st time in Innsbruck a few years ago (7 or 8) we did not really know where we were going and just found shops streets mainly.... so close to Old Town and yet never found it. This time we did the sensible thing and got town maps etc.

Did a lot of mountain passes as well in areas of Austria not traveled before... such as the Timmelsjoch pass into Italy.

More later, not sure when I can sort out some pics as so much to catch up now home again, not least what has been happening on this Forum and what others have been up to.
(got over 1000 emails to go through -- think I might just hit the delete all new emails button .. problem solved LOL.)

Hi Clivia, thing is we did not actually plan before hand to go. The plan was to do a lot more of Switzerland this year but we changed our mind on route. After doing a few of the mountain passes I decided my Motorhome brakes could take no more. Actually we did do more passes. Anyway! really enjoyed innsbruck. Actually we ate in the Spar restaurant in the shopping center behind/near the station. It was Ok and was cheap. Because we are away for 6 weeks we cannot afford to eat in many expensive restaurants every day.
What we do like is recommendations for best places to get Cafe und Kuchen in the afternoon.
Our wonderful day though was cut slightly short in the evening because of threatening rain storms. We made it back to our campsite just in time before a terrific thunderstorm and downpour.
I have somehow managed to corrupt all my photos in my camera so am waiting for a copy of son's pics but he does not have internet connection yet in his new flat in Edinburgh - gets connected today so hopefully soon.

Timmelsjoch pass from Austria into Italy - Italy side descent. Sorry quality is rubbish, just learning how to process videos and original is far better. I made 4 x speed so less boring and not sure it really works. Anyway, gives an idea of what I think is the best driving road in the Wuuuuurreld and was highlight of this years holiday.

WOW! and I thought the snakeshead pass to Sheffield was horrific! -- I'm funny about heights, or should I say I'm scared of massive drops and steering a car!
Views are stunning Brambles but I actually felt queasy watching them Welcome back
