Hi I've just received a pair of Samsung 25r batteries I ordered from a vendor on Amazon, they've both come in boxes branded with XTAR. Is there any way to verify if these batteries are genuine or not?
Cheers Chris

It seems good to me, but would have liked to see internal resistance mentioned as you can get reasonable testers for £20 and that is hard to fake. The limitation are the sample size and that is not his fault who has the money and time to source hundreds or thousands of toe test and the possibility of a very good fake. I wonder if he tried to get Samsung to comment as if they could confirm that some or all of those things are always the same. I have noticed that with 25Rs the lettering wares off easily, that the top cap washers are often not centred well and the hight of the positive terminal varies a little, but that could be the washer placement or a variation in the thickness of the heat shrink wrapper. The first thing I would always recommend is using a reliable supplier, Matt of Suck My Mod has said he believes that on the US many stores buying from eCig wholesalers rather than battery wholesalers had fake VTC batteries, but there is no way for us to verify that. The article is probably right about the things to look for so good for spotting fakes, you couldn't absolutely guaranty a battery is genuine from it just that. But still very useful as it would have to be a near perfect fake to pass on so many details.
