"Life...........is just a bowl of tricks!!!!!!" Not to mention sawing, planing, sanding, routing, staining and waxing of course ... Just saying ... it ain't quite as simple as you make it sound Chris to produce good woodwork. Some very nice work there wildpolecat .. Well done

Well done Depends how particular you want to be...........If you plan on selling or displaying them , then of course there is a lot more involved..........But I was referring to the basics of making your own stands, if you so desired, for your own use...... But I do like the idea of using log off cuts...............Makes them look really rustic & original....Top work. "Life...........is just a bowl of tricks!!!!!!"

@yinyang i spent 5hrs making the tooling to produce that particular profile shape 2hrs machining it the profile was left overs from an oak library i shipped out to oz. the rest of the router and drilling probably an hr each stand osmo hard waxoil [not cheap] so i think your post is very true if your just bunging a few holes in a lump of wood its fairly easy the stand made from raw barkwood was the easiest and the most popular to date nicknamed the hobit stand by some they are more a thing i enjoy making i certainly couldnt pay my mortgage churning them out mores the pity
