So, this has got me thinking that I need something that uses a 3.7v battery, which has a long enough battery life so I can use it whilst out and about, but which also looks good and isn't cumbersome.

Which leads me on to the main point of me writing this......out of all the shinies on the market at the minute I am loving the GG devices and the Touchwood! I'm not sure the battery on the GGTB would last long enough as I prefer the duration of the 18650's (Is there an 18650 battery mod for the GGTB?) but it would be great for the pub runs.
The Touchwood is in my opinion gorgeous! I really love them and aim to have one in my collection one day.

Having said all that (eventually) the idea that is still forming in my head is this:
If you wanted (no pressure at all) I could lend you my Lavatube for you to try and see if it's for you, for a week/a month/whatever? and at the same time I could borrow either your GGTB or Touchwood.
There would be no commitment to buy after the agreed time, but it would give us both an ideal opportunity to 'try before we buy'.

I have no idea if this would work, or if you would be interested, but thought I would mention it anyway.

What do you think?

great offer from you, but in the next week or so so im going to put the ggtb up for sale and i dare not lend out the touchwood as it was a xmas present, i mentioned selling it the other day and the glare i got was not great
i am going to totally reconsider where im going to go next.
i am starting to like the idea of VV and i would imagine the kick could be added to the touchwood so thats an option as well.
i really need to start thinking again from scratch.

As I say - I'm not sure it would work, but I'm not using my LT as much as I hoped I would and it sits in the cupboard most of the time.
I did toy with the idea of selling it, but I won't recoup what I paid for it, and so would be great as a back up device.
But then if I bought another device, then the LT would probably end up redundant?

I don't know if I'd miss having a VV device so figured this would be the best way of not only testing something new, but also testing whether I could live without the LT?

No problems what so ever! I totally understand where you're coming from.
I think my problem is wanting something of quality but which has the endurance and kick an 18650 gives.
I'm not saying the LT isn't quality, it definitely is for £35, and the things it does shouldn't be sniffed at, but I haven't had great experiences with SR cartos so will only use the 1.7's now and therefore won't use the LT, other than when I need to as backup.

I like the look of the GGTB but don't know if I could live with the battery duration, or with having to buy yet more different batteries. Is there an 18650 extension tube for the GGTB that you know of?

i really dont know about an 18650 extension tube, i dont think ive seen a mention of one.
my 17670 batts last 24hrs. then my 18650s last me 48hrs so you might be able to judge from that how long 17670s would last you.
neither are flat that just when i change them.

Raggy, what is it that you don't like about the Touchwood? I absolutely love mine and it's my main device.

i do like it, to date it is the best device ive had.
what i wanted really was something shorter to use when im out.
ive wanted a super T for some time so it was the obvious route.
but now im rethinking it all and may get a VV device more than anything because i need to move with the times and they seem to be the way forward.
