No the board was designed for a battery that physically cannot be installed the wrong way round so it was not originally needed, but they plan a module that will take care of dual 18650s, no ETA as yet.  That doesn't mean it will be damaged, I don't know and am not going to try, maybe it will blow the fuse, maybe it will be OK.  But there are plenty of mods out there with no reverse protection (DNA20s & 30s come to mind) and a few commercial 2x18650 DNA200s.

Don't be put off, the mod is fine, just put the batteries in properly.
