The scenario:
Velocity at 0.06 ohm dual nickel coil on the ipv d2 at 40 joules and 400F Resistance locked in cold at the said 0.06 ohms.
Vaping great for the last couple of hours with no dry hits when the juice dries up ... just a weakening of the vape to let me know to re-drip.
However, although the vape is consistent, the resistance reads around 0.11 ohm at rest and then when I press the fire button it briefly read 0.06 or 0.07 and then jumps to around 0.11 or 0.13
At last, the question: Is this normal?

My IPV D2 does this, I lock the resistance in then while vaping it almost doubles. Think it's designed to show the live resistance but it's basing the maths on what was locked.....other wise a 50% miss read I would certainly taste...!
Tough little mod while I was on holiday, dropped it twice onto concrete and was fine and also got it wet twice, in the pool and sea, both times it died for the day, left it on the balcony over night and it come back to life in the morning.

If 0.06 ohm at 70 F it would be 0.131 ohm at 400 F

letsavit and VapingBad ... Cheers guys, I knew that TC was working OK but I couldn't understand why the locked resistance was changing. You have reassured me that all is OK.

I prefer to carry a spare battery ... 30 second job to change a battery and you are good to go.

@yinyang - right, your turn to help me! My Velocity arrived from Focalecig today, and although I've popped in a couple of Kanthal coils just to see how it behaves, I want to use this with TC on my Sig 75w. Dual coiled, what coils do you put in, what wire (I have .4 Ni), how many wraps, around what diameter former? I know about locking in the resistance cold, but despite playing with Steam Engine earlier, all I've done is confuse myself!!!

I used these Andy www.fasttech.com/p/2330105 ... cheap as chips and they save a lot of hassle. They are described as 0.1 ohm but I have tested a few and they are all 0.12 ohm so give you 0.06 ohm when dual coiling which gives you a little margin above the Sigelei 75's 0.05 ohm lower limit. The Velocity is a great rda and really simple to build ... enjoy. If you drop me a PM with your address I will send you a few of the above coils to try. ETA: I have just reread your post and see that you already have 0.4 ni200 wire so you are good to go ... I have measured one of my FT coils and they are wrapped around a 3.0 mm former with 12 wraps to give 0.12 ohms.

I'm also having problems with the resistance after locking it Figure I won't bother and will just switch it on and off. Have not got it for TC or even sub-ohm I had it tell me a 1.7ohm KFL+ was 3.2ohms And then tell me same KFL+ had no resistance Had to rewire in it in the end!!!
