Well SS does work in Nickel mode,18 watts, 230F,normal,SC,0.00630, 4 wraps of .5mm at 3.5mm diameter. Dont be totally hung up by any of the figures apart from the coil. I`ve been dripping for the past couple of hours and it`s working great. Going to make two 8 wrap coils tomorrow in parallel which should give me the same resistance and try it with the same settings. Will post back here. Even at 230F with this set up, it`s a nice warm vape. Equivalent warmth to the normal nickel coil at the right temperature etc. Flavour and vapour is great.
The SS wire will be very much more flexible if you heat it first, it gets very easy to work with, let it cool slowly. If you quickly dunk it in cold water it will harden again.

Just changed the coils from a 4 wrap to two 8 wraps in parallel to keep the same resistance but quadruple the coil metal surface area. Tried the SC/DC thing (dual coil/single coil setting), didn`t make a lot of difference, maybe a bit less vapour. It still controls/limits the coil temperature at the same point as the settings and coil in the post above this one, so you can use the nickel TC mode to use SS and it appears to work perfectly. You may think that at 230F it is going to be a cool vape, but like I said, dont get hung up by the figures if you are trying this. It is hitting 70 watts when the wick is wet (the liquid and wicking capacity performance has been doubled by double coiling) which is way too much for me, I`ll probably go back to the other 4 wrap single coil setup which suits my needs better. Probably try reducing the temp setting and see where that gets me first, and there is always the TC-NI (purity) setting to tweak to reduce the vapour production. All good fun

robby good news about SS working on nickel mode. Daft question, but can a micro coil be made using SS wire on TC or does it have to be slightly spaced like nickel? Griff

Griff Personaly I like them slightly spaced. It`s very low resistance wire so you need a lot of it, so big diameter wraps. I dont think a micro coil would be practical and I dont have any thinner wire to test it out. It`s a question of experimentation I think, and then suck it and see It is a lot easier to work with than nickel though.
